Jul. 9, 2007 Way To Use Your Head...
My wonderful Husband is one of the safest people I know. I trust him completely with our children. As a matter of fact, I trust him more than I trust myself! How could I not, he is their Daddy.
I say all this because he does not normally do things that are dangerous. On Saturday, he and my oldest daughter went for a short dirt bike ride. This isn't the first they have been on one together. They used to go riding often in Michigan a couple years ago.
My Honey has been riding since he was ten, so he is pretty good at anticipating things. Well, he over anticipated and threw himself over the handle bars and landed square on his head! Other than the fact that his neck was a bit crooked and he could not look side to side (and he had tremendous pain) he was fine.
I told him that if he couldn't get out of bed on Sunday morning, I was taking him to have it x-rayed. He did get out of bed and continued to improve all day, but he was definitely not better. Today, he went to the chiropractor only to find out he has "military neck". His 3rd and 4th vertebrae tip down instead of up. The doctor was quite sure this happened long ago because he said that many athletes can have this. So after much adjustment and about $100 later, he is feeling much better and the doctor is confident that he will be good as new!
