On Father's Day, we had a nice surprise in our backyard.
Right beside our tomato plants was....

We identified this baby bird's parents as a "Common Grackle".

The baby (of course) couldn't fly,
but it hopped around on the ground a bit.

The little bird's parents were noticeably calling out to their baby.
They perched nearby on the fence & around the yard.

I don't particularly think Grackles are very attractive.
Neverthless, isn't the little baby so cute?

Hello Tarissa!

(Very pretty name, by the way!)
Sorry I took so long to reply to your comments :S I've been sorely neglecting blogging lately....

You did quite well on the quiz, actually. Only one wrong! (Which was #2. The correct answer was a.) Great job, though! I don't think I would have gotten as many right if I hadn't researched it!

Have a wonderful day!

It always fun to find baby animals in your backyard. One time my sister and I found two kittens, their eyes hadn't even opened yet they were so little.

I am pretty excited about my book list as well! I got a lot of books on that from other book lists I have read.

I strongly recommend anything of Louisa May Alcott's! She is a wonderful author.

I *loved* Sherlock Holmes. They are such interesting stories, and I couldn't put it down. The only one I didn't like actually was A Study in Scarlet and I read that one first. My sister encouraged me to keep reading though so I did.

You have a very cute blog!

What a cute little visitor! Aren't birds simply charming? Ever since we have had our cockatiel, I have been more aware of the different personalities and attitudes that birds have.

Thank you, I am doing much better now - I think I'm over the worst part. :)

Joyfully in Christ,
Emily Rose
