* pseudo: 1. not actually, but having the appearance of; pretended; false or spurious; sham.    2. almost, approaching, or trying to be.

Perhaps the most common word with the suffix "pseudo" that we are all accustomed to is pseudonym, which means: a false or fictitious name; pen name.
This word "pseudonym" has always intrigued me for years, and I recently came across a handful of similar words that have the same prefix.
I thought I would share them...

* pseudothyrum (soo-doe-thie'-rum): a private or secret entrance

* pseudologist (sood-all'-e-jist): a liar; teller of false things

* pseudomnesia (soo-dom-nee'-zi-a): memory for things that never happened

* pseudepisematic (soo-ep"-i-se-mat'-ik): an animal colored to look like its prey or its surroundings

* pseudepigraphous (soo-doe-thie'-rum): signed with a phony or false name

I can just see myself using these words in upcoming writing projects & stories. I actually can't wait to make use of some of these!
