I'm starting a Word Puzzle for my readers to participate in!
The only thing you have to do is to guess a letter that you think might be in the phrase. I guess this game is somewhat like Hangman, except... there's no drawing of a stick person involved. :)

After searching online, I found a very nice quote that was exactly like what I was looking for. This quote is what you're going to try to figure out.

Once you start guessing letters, I'll fill in the blanks of the puzzle with those letters.
Does that sounds like fun? Go ahead and try it out!

Here is the puzzle:

_    _ _ _ _    _ _ _ _    _ _ _    _ _    _ _ _ _ _ _ .

Start guessing NOW!!...and come back soon to see the game's progress, so that you can guess more letters again!

I'm sure you're familiar with playing an Ad Lib game. You play by coming up with random words and fitting them into a little story, to create a (sometimes) hilarious scenario to read.

For the first time on my blog, I'm introducing my own Ad Lib puzzle--Book Version!

Why is it called "Book Version"?
I took a small portion of a real book to create the ad lib from. By using a few paragraphs, and replacing some words, I came up with a list for you to fill out. Your own words will be used to re-create the story again, and this time it will be completely different than the orignal story! Make sense?

You might be curious to know what book I'm using to create the activity.
The book is "Farmer Boy" by Laura Ingalls Wilder. You can read a review I wrote for this book by visiting The Backyard blog.

Here's the INSTRUCTIONS:

-*-Fill out the above list, using the appropriate type of word.

-*-Leave a comment with your list of words.

After I get your list, I will insert the words into the "Farmer Boy" story and you'll be able to see how it turned out.

I will also post the real paragraphs from the book, and compare the original with yours.

* pseudo: 1. not actually, but having the appearance of; pretended; false or spurious; sham.    2. almost, approaching, or trying to be.

Perhaps the most common word with the suffix "pseudo" that we are all accustomed to is pseudonym, which means: a false or fictitious name; pen name.
This word "pseudonym" has always intrigued me for years, and I recently came across a handful of similar words that have the same prefix.
I thought I would share them...

* pseudothyrum (soo-doe-thie'-rum): a private or secret entrance

* pseudologist (sood-all'-e-jist): a liar; teller of false things

* pseudomnesia (soo-dom-nee'-zi-a): memory for things that never happened

* pseudepisematic (soo-ep"-i-se-mat'-ik): an animal colored to look like its prey or its surroundings

* pseudepigraphous (soo-doe-thie'-rum): signed with a phony or false name

I can just see myself using these words in upcoming writing projects & stories. I actually can't wait to make use of some of these!

Do you know the meaning of one of these words??

Garrulous
Anne, who lives at Green Gables, is very garrulous.

Ambiguous

The description that read "Lost dog. Has loud bark. Is fast runner." was ambiguous and of not much help.

Can you come up with another sentence that one of these words could be inserted into?
