Thanksgiving

Well, thanksgiving did go well. G&G came over at about 4:30 and lo and behold- 2 chickens were with them. (Live ones- with names, Daisy and Henny Penny, and a cage to put them in)
We were all excited. They are a deep chocolatey brown color and they cock their heads in jerkish motions like all birds. They will start laying soon. We had a chicken before, named Rosa, who was actually the "outcast" of G&G's last flock. She was a pretty gal, different than the new ones. She had a few whitish spots on her lighter brown feathered body. Rosa laid an egg nearly every day.
Anyway, once the chickie was all situated, we ate Thanksgiving dinner (we were hungry) G&G had brought 2 pies, pecan and pumpkin, about 7 little mini-size spice cakes with icing drizzled on top, and a few squares of homemade soft deep brown rich gingerbread. Oh, and they brought sage spiced stuffing too.
Other things on the menu included,  Music Man's famous mashed potatoes, 1of4's  crispy buttery crescent rolls, Piano Woman's layered pea, celery, bacon salad and sweet potato casserole with cruchy pecanson top, Cranberry sauce, Mrs. G's waldorf salad with huge organic raisins, and of course- a 14 pound turkey.
Needless to say, we all stuffed ourselves silly on this delicious feast. Then, before desert, we went to take pictures in front of the Christmas tree. There were several really good ones (we are terribly fortunate to have Music Man's digital camera with room for like 1000 pictures or something like that- no kidding!) We will use one off them for our Christmas letter.
Lastly, we gathered round the table and played a game- scattergories.
(Music Man and Piano Woman are particularly fond of this game) G&G had never, or at least not for a while, played the game, so they had to be taught. Once they got the hang though, they were the best players! Mr. G helped me (quite a lot actually) Mrs. G and 1of4 ended up tying for 1st place.
It was a fun evening!

Yeah, only maybe I would have won if G had not helped you so much.

About Me

Hi! This is my blog. It is more of a record than a diary. Keeping a journal wasn't really ever my thing. I am 15 years old and enjoy reading, cooking, gardening, and learning about fitness and nutrition. I'm currently studying Revelation in school and Genesis on my own. Also, I am learning about ocean currents and the structure of the earth. Neat stuff...
