Poetry & Recipes

Posted in Daughter

My daughter had a homework assignment to write a poem using a recipe format, but the poem couldn’t be about food. We use Daily Spark Poetry for quick ideas. This gives her a creative outlet within bounds to explore the language as well as poetry. Sometimes she has to rewrite and work out the poem. However this one was pretty near perfect. This was what she came up with (she is very – VERY social):

The Happy Cake

You’ll love this favorite!!

You’ll need:

All of you; 1 dozen friends
1/2 cup of a mess

2/3 cup of fun

the moon; the sun

And all of the stars

First stir in you

And your friends

Sift the mess

And the fun

Stir in the moon

And the sun

Bake for 45 minutes

Set out for five seconds

Sprinkle on the stars

Wasn’t that adorable!!! I thought so and just wanted to share.

Hope everyone’s school year is off to a good start!!

Birthday Girl

Posted in Daughter

My beautiful daughter is now a teenager. It really doesn't seem so long ago that she was in my arms as a newborn. I can remember just holding her, staring at her in complete wonder. This was the most perfect baby I had ever seen. I would trace her lovely face with my fingers in disbelief that she was my child. How is it that we sinners could have such miricles? As she grew, she seemed to amaze me more and more. Parenting isn't always easy or even delightful, however being a parent is very rewarding. This child is very precious. She is God's desire; her life is no accident. And I have the privilage to be her Mommy.

May the Lord Bless and Keep you. I pray that you will seek Him and serve Him. May you use the gifts He has given you for His glory and your growth.

I love you, my sweet girl.

What Is Shepherd's Fold?

Our School's Motto is: Fidelis, Virtus, Continentia

Our School's Motto means: Faith, Virtue, Self-Control

We chose Shepherd's Fold as the name of our school to reflect Jesus, our Shepherd, leading and directing our learning and our lives. The Lord created us to be multi-dimensional. Each part of us needs His guidance. As He cares, directs, and protects for every aspect of our lives, then we, with His help, care for, direct, and protect our children.

The Good Shepherd Art Piece

African Gospel Art has several pieces. This one about the Good Shepherd really connected with me. The kind owner of the site is allowing me to use it in my blog. Please visit the art work; it really is delightful.
