School at the Library - For Mary aka Canadagirl

Mary asked for another post so here I am!

Yesterday we had to make a trip all the way down south of the cities. It takes an hour and a half so we brought school with us. This is a familiar site for us, our schedule is crazy each week with doctor appointments, class, co-op, Awana, quizzing, Bible study, scouts, church and life. I call it school on the road.

After our appointment to take off Bub's casts (ds#1), we grabbed lunch and started home. Bub (ds#2) asked if we could do school at the library. Dd#1 needed to do some research so it sounded like a great idea.

We arrived in the early afternoon and settled at a table away from the checkout desk. Dd went to research and the boys sat on either side of me and we started school. The large windows huge tables and comfy chairs made school go fast. Ater the boys finished they went to work on the computers for kids. I checked in with dd and grabbed a magazine. What a relaxing time. I love the peace and quiet. The house can become a distraction for all of us. The kids want to "play" and then there's the phone, etc. for me.

We're planning on trying to do school at the library once a week!

We use to call our van-school days as "Ford School", but now we have a Chrysler - some how Chrysler School doesn't have a ring to it. lol

We have done school a couple of times at the library with friends in the past. It's a nice change! Right now I'm enjoying our new library computer system, placing books/tapes on hold from the comfort of my computer at home & then checking to see when they are in by our computer too. Isn't technology grand.
