Show & Tell is a great way to meet new bloggy friends. Check out Canadagirl's blog . To see how to join in.
My show & tell is my dad.....
Just in case you didn't know; my dad had the flesh eating bacteria we've all heard about sometime in the news.
He had most of his left arm taken and his left side of all its muscle. We've been at the hospital most days for the last three weeks. Dad is still in critical condition but can now respond to us and recognize us.
Last night Dad asked me many questions about what happened and I was the first person to tell him about loosing his arm. My heart broke watching dad process the information. He didn't want me to cry so I sent my hubby and kids in to cheer Grandpa up, then I broke down outside the room. A daughter shouldn't have to tell her father he's lost his arm...
Thanks for your encouragement. It is so wonderful to not be limited to our small circle of church family these days; we can bless others on the other side of the country (and world) with this gift of the internet. I've found that I always respond to any kid's comments and lessons, even though my bloggy "friends" sometimes get left behind. I do love working with the kids. And the Lord has blessed. The Old Schoolhouse Store has offered to put both the print book and an e-book of the writing book in their store. When that is up, reviews would be much appreciated over there. :-)
Anyway, I bind my print version of the WW at the local copy shop. Comb binding is less than a dollar. Also, if Margo writes a long story and completes it, let me know. I have in the past edited and formatted a young teen's story so that is printed out looking exactly like a book. It's possible, if things are moving slow at the time, I might be able to do something like that for her. Any kid who actually completes an entire book and goes through the editing/revising process deserves a cool-looking book. When I did it for this other teen, I put it all on a CD and told her to go to Office Depot for other copies to give away to family. It was really cool!
I am so sorry to hear about your father. I am glad he can recognize and respond to you all now.
I will certainly be keeping you and all your family in my prayers.
God bless,
Pam
I just got back in blogworld and saw your post concerning your dad. My heart is heavy for you and the family. God's grace be upon you! May His resurrection power be very real to you!
Oh my gosh, what a horrible thing to go through. I'm so sorry for you and your dad. Is he past the worst part now or is he still battling the bacteria? I will keep your family in my prayers.
Love, Alyssa
