Posted in Fun With Felt
1. It's easy to use. All you really need to make thing from felt is: felt, scissors and glue. Ocassionally I use a needle and thread.
2. It's cheap! JoAnn's right now has it on sale for 10 sheets for a dollar! What a bargin. I watch the ads and when I see it on sale I stock up.
3. Kids love it. It must be something about the texture, but they love to handle it. They love to participate in the stories. I have never met a kid who doesn't love to join in when the felts come out.
4. It can be used for a wide range of ages. Don't make the mistake of thinking felt is just for preschoolers. I have used my felt board with my kids & at Awana up to 6th grade. I have used the St. Patricks Day felt story with older kids. I have also made Ressurection Eggs into a felt board story which is much easier for everyone to see when you're working with a large group. (I'll post more on making the Resurrection Egg set when it gets closer to Easter.) Right now I am working on Full Armour of the Lord set based on Ephesian 6:10-20 . (Although that is a really fun lesson to teach with balloons, I'll post on that later too!)
5. It's easily accessable. A lot of felt can be kept on hand in a very small amount of space to be used when you get inspired.
6. It can be used for a lot of things. You can make felt board stories to use and re-use. You can make craft projects, manipulatives, stuffed animals and dolls. The sky is the limit!
So what are you waiting for, FELT is on sale at JoAnn's!! LOL

Enjoy!
