Just Call Me Jamin!
Posted in My Kids
I have had several people comment that they don’t know what to call me. My “name” is jaminacema, which to the untrained eye may be hard to pronounce….Let me fill you in. You have to break it up into it’s 3 parts: Jamin, Ace & Ma
Jamin -
Very busy; working quickly, being in your groove!
Ace -
A expert. (On my own kids!)
Ma -
[Short for mama.]
So how did I come up with this? Well, each part of my name is letters from each of my children’s “real” names. Because I have an 11 year old who we are trying to teach proper internet saftey I have opted not to use our real names on my blog. He’s not allowed to use his real name, so I am not allowed to use mine. (Mine does show up occasionally in comments IRL friends have left, so if your really curious….)
However, this name does fit me!
I am a fast moving, fast talking kind of person. I have a lot of energy. I take on a lot of projects and I like to have my finger in a lot of pots! (In case you haven’t noticed! LOL) That’s the
Jamin part of me!
Ace to me means I m an expert on my own children. This goes along with
my parenting philosophy that my kids are my ministry. God made me their Mom, He made me especially for the job. I am an expert on them! All the credit goes to Him, I just try to follow His lead.
Ma is
what I most wanted to be all my life. It is the most important title I will ever have and the job that I will always be the most proud of!
So there you have it! Now that I have clarifed my "name" I have decided to change my blog name to Just Call Me Jamin! I hate change, but I think it is a better description of my blog.
So, just call me
Jamin!

That is so funny! Actually, today, I was looking at your name and thinking, "how in the world do you say that? and is that her real name?" I was so dumb-founded on how to pronounce it.
That really is cute! I love it. You are very creative and I'm glad that you shared that story, before I became one of the many to say: HOW IN THE WORLD DO YOU SAY THAT!?

I made the egg carton/numbers game for my kids this weekend. It's so much fun. I made 2 (because a) they were fighting over it and b)I made them a little different). My son figured out that they were in order and so I thought I'd challenge him a bit. I put them numbers in random spots and it was neat to see how he went looking for each number, out of order. Still got them right, tho. I want to make one for adding and subtracting. Why am I so enamered with this project? it's just so much fun!
I'm gonna do the stompin' alphabet next. woo hoo!

I always figured it was a combination of other names, and wondered if it were pronounceable (is that a word??), so I'm glad to have some version that I CAN pronounce! :^)

I had to check out your post after seeing your name Jamin because I have a son named Jamin and he was reading over my shoulder too. The definition was very interesting; I hadn't read that one before now. He was glad it isn't your "real" name because he was wondering if it was a girl's name. ha ha ha ~Karen

What a cool name - such creativity! I love that you call your children your ministry. That is how I look at mine as well. :) You have lots of cool things on your site, I'm really enjoying checking it out!

Great name! But Jamin should be spelled "Jammin'" if you want the correct pronunciation. What you have is pronounced "jay-min." - Sorry - I'm just an English language and pronunciation fanatic! Lorri

Hi,
I had to look twice at your name because I named my son Jamin. It is found in Genesis 46:10 the son of Simeon. The meaning of the name is "right handed". I do like your use of "Jam-min" rather than "Jay-min".

I just happened to stumble across your site the other day in my searching for SOMETHING to do with my children. What a blessing! I've already borrowed one of your lapbooks for my two oldest, and we're going to do the "wordless" lapbook tonight at the kids church program I run. THANK YOU! My older boys were getting so bored with worksheets, and so was I. I'd seen a lapbook once but it was long enough ago that I didn't remember anything about them. Now the boys are all fired up & want to make lapbooks about EVERYTHING! LOL I've been hsing for 8 years, and I'm totally in love with it again because of lapbooks (how can something so simple be so effective?). Thanks again, and I look forward to your future posts! In Christ, S.R.

Hi, I just found your blog linked from...somewhere I'm not even sure. Very cool!
When I hear "Jamin" I think of two things:
"tea, a drink with jamin bread"
and
"we be jamin" from the 80's version of "Lean on Me"
:P
