Many years go when my oldest
son was about 5 he asked me for some paper. He sat down with his
crayons and a stapler and the next thing I knew he came to me and
wanted to "read" me his Wordless Book. I had no idea what he was
doing, but he proceeded to explain the plan of salvation to me using
his simple book. It turned out that the teacher had used a Wordless
Book that week at church. So what is a Wordless book? It is
basically 5 sheets of paper.
1. Gold- GOLD
reminds us of Heaven. The Bible tells us Heaven has a street of gold!
But the best part about Heaven is that God, who created you and me,
lives there.
2. Black -
It is sin! That is what this DARK page reminds us of. Sin is
anything you think, say, or do that does not please God, like lying,
cheating, being selfish, or hurting others.
3.Red- God sent Jesus Christ, His perfect Son, to be born as a little baby. Jesus lived a perfect life....He never sinned. When He was grown, wicked men nailed Him to a cross. RED reminds us of Jesus' blood.
4. White - WHITE reminds us of a CLEAN heart. How can you have a clean heart?
A = Admit to God you are a sinner and want to turn away from those sins. B = Believe in Jesus Christ, that He is God's perfect Son who died for your sin, was buried, and rose again. C = Call on Him to save you from your sin. 5. Green -
GREEN stands for things that grow. When you ask God to forgive you and
save you, you become His child. God wants you to get to know Him better
and to grow to become more like Him.
The Wordless
Book is the brainchild of the people at Child Evangelism
Fellowship. They also have the same story with a braclet made of
5 beads. We made these in Awana one year after using the Wordless

CEF ran our VBS a couple of years ago. We loved our wordless books!

I taught 5 day clubs for CEF the summer I got my driver's license. Now almost twenty years later, I still consistently use the wordless book. It really is one of the greatest evangelistic tools that I have ever seen.

When i was little I was taught the wordless book. it is interesting to see how many kids do not know of the wordless book and neither do there parents. I have been teaching the kids in my class (I do kids Churh) all about it and sending info for the parents as well. did you know there is a song to go with the wordless book?
My heart was dark with sin. until my savior came in. his precious blood i know will wash me whiter than snow. and in Gods word I am told I'll walk the streets of gold. o grow in Christ each day. I read my bible and pray.
We have homeschooled our children from the start and we love every minute of it! This is my place to share my thoughts on homeschooling, my kids and living for the Lord. All the while being a little outside the box!!
