But The Fruit of The Spirit is...
Posted in Crafts, Sewing, Cooking, Etc...
I am doing a Bible Study called
The Power of A Positve Mom.
It's an interesting an encouraging study. Each week we discuss
the book and then do craft related to the lesson. One of the
crafts we did was make these little Fruit of The Spirit jars.
It's just a jar filled with Runts candy. On the outside we put the verse:
But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness andself-control.
Galatian 5:22
Each time I "catch" one of my kids showing one of these "fruits" I can
reward them with a candy. (The candies look like little pieces of
fruit.) Before I give them a candy I say something like. "I
like the way you were playing with your brother. Which of the
fruits where you using?" and then they have to think about it and
tell me "Love, kindness & gentleness." My kids are loving the
little rewards, (Runts must taste great! LOL) and they are
learning what the fruits of the spirit are! It seems that as they
are learning these they are also thinking more about their behavior and
how they are treating each other. Looks like I am going to be
picking up more Runts next time I am at the store!

You are just so creative. I read this book awhile back. It is very though provoking. Lots of heart issues are talking about in this book. It made me realize that my attidtue is a direct reflection on my kids attitdude. I did not like what I saw and I'm still working on being a positive mom.
I love the craft idea. How do you come up with all of these ideas? I'm so impressed and love to read your blog to see what you will come up with next!
