Little Teacher
My 5 year old daughter informed me a
few days ago that I no longer need to worry about teaching her 2 year
old brother. She is taking over the job! She is quite
serious about it too. Every afternoon after his nap/quiet time
she is sitting him down for lessons! He is still in that "I'm so
happy my sister is playing with me I'll do whatever she says."
stage, so it's working well for her. Today they made animal
masks, watched a
Richard Scarry learning video, played Ring Around the Rosie and ate chocolate for snack. Sounds like a good "schoolday" to me!
Learning and Loving it!!

Oh, how sweet! She must LOVE her teacher so much in order to want to emulate her! You've built into your 5 year old a love for learning that she longs to share!

Oh my goodness!
My six-year-old was just doing that with his four-year-old brother. In fact, he was so excited about the idea that he wanted to teach all the other MOPS kids.
That was yesterday. Today, school was once again evil and should be avoided.

Too cute! Natalie tells me that she will teach Lucas when the time comes, too. I'm kind of scared of what she might decide to teach him, though. :o)

What a great way for her to learn. There is nothirg like teaching to reinforce learning. When my Dd was 6, she used to create math worksheets for her little brother. Maybe not marketable as curriculum, but I cherish them. Enjoy!

I wish I had a teacher like that when I was in school...chocolate? wow! She's the best. You may hafta lend her out to me, so she can teach both my kids.
I do love having one kid who is older. It's amazing how much my 2 year old is learning from my 5 year old. The other day, I heard her spelling her name. I have no idea how she learned to do this (considering, he doesn't really know how to yet, but whatever!). Anyways, it's nice that by the time she's his age now, she'll already know it all! Homeschooling is so much fun!
