We love playing with dice. Several years ago I bought a mulit-sided dice set at a gamestore. We have everthing from a 3 sided dice to a 20 sided dice. We switch them out with the dice from different games. It is a great way to reinforce counting skills with little guys. It also throws a whole other element into games like Trouble when you may move as many as 20 spaces at a time. It doesn't always pan out the way you think. Sometimes you need a 2 to get finished with a piece and you keep getting 18's! LOLWe have also used other types of dice. One of our favorites are dice with letters on them. You can roll the dice and try to spell words with the letters you get.
Operation dice (ie. + & -), double dice, fraction dice, Algebra dice, money dice, vowel dice, verb dice, parts of speach dice. Here is a site that has every type of dice you can imagine! We have used many of these and they are all fun! And don't forget to order some blank dice so you can make them be whatever you want! My kids love the blank dice.
Here is a site where you can find lots of dice games.
Here is the ebay link for multi-sided dice.
Get ready to have fun!!
