Easy Bake Oven
Posted in My Kids
I have been wanting to get an Easy
Bake Oven for my daughter for quite some time now. Last weekend I
finally found one at the Thrift Store for $2.50! Whoo
Hooo!!!!
I have so many fond memories of my Easy Bake Oven.
Click here to see a picture of the one I had as a child.
Sadly the modern ones look more like a microwave than an oven. But they
are still fun!!!! Night before last my daughter and I made
Chocolate Chip Cookies in her new oven. We cheated and used the
pre-made dough you can buy at the store. But then I found this
site online that has recipes to make all kinds of cool mixes!
Here is the link for lots of fun recipes! Her she is with her very first Easy Bake Cake! Here is the recipe we used for the
cake and for the
icing.
Then we made pizza!
Here she is mixing up the dough.
And here is her finished pizza!
No one but me actually liked the pizza. My kids are use to a
"real" pizza crust and this was more like Bisquick crust.
This is actually good news since making dinner for a family of 5 in a
Easy Bake Oven is a little time consuming! LOL
Oh, having kids is such fun!!!!

My sister never let me play with her Easy Bake Oven. I'm not sure I've gotten over that one.
Thanks for the photos. You can see the pride of workmanship in your daughter's face. It warms my heart.
Now...I'm hungry.

My ds is wanting an Easy Bake oven in a serious way, and last year, right after Christmas they clearanced them for $5!!! Unfortunately, I missed out on one. :( My wee one loves helping me cook, so even though it's not his own oven, he's still happy! Maybe this year!
BTW...upon perusing your blog, I see you, too, are an AP mommy/family! I run a great group on Yahoo, that is comprised of so many wonderful AP-ers..come check us out! We'd love to have you!

And thank you for the comment on my blog! My wee one LOVES to get awards, and the awards Helena made are just too gorgeous! I hope you snag some for your wee ones, too! Anyhow, with our having such a great deal in common, I just had to add you to my friends list! :o) Looking forward to reading more of your blog soon!

Thank you so much for the link to things to make. The mixes are horrendously expensive. Jungle Princess got one of these a year or so ago from my dad. She thinks it is delightful. Personally, I would rather her just make things in the big oven and don't see the attraction. However, with these cool recipes (at less expense), I will be able to enjoy the oven more:) Thanks again!

What a deal! My daughter recieved one for Christmas a couple of years ago, then the novelty wore off (for me!) and it is stuck on a shelf with lost accesories... I'll have to make an effort to find them since you gave that recipe list! Thanks for visiting - I added you to my friends list so I can come back and visit :)

First, your daughter is such a little beauty! Second, I got all melancholy reading your post and thinking about MY Easy-Bake oven (oh so many years ago) and how much fun it was!! Sure wish I would have had a little girl to enjoy one of those again. I am hoping for nieces! :-) Hey, do ya think my 14 and 17 year old young men would be interested in Easy Bake??? :-D Nah...I guess not.
Blessings,
Sonya

Thank you for helping me to remember my little oven from childhood. Your photos are precious! I really enjoyed touring through your blog. I liked you right away because your picture reminds me of a good friend, Cindi in NC (not a blogger). :-)
I like meeting someone who also uses (?) homeopathy. We used it a lot to cure a(then) 1 year old son some years ago but I still have the remedy kits in my cabinet & get them out as needed..anyway I just wanted to introduce myself and say Hi, Jamin! (I don't let my kids use their given names on thier blogs, either, except my 14 year old has recently been given some leeway in this area; not out of leniency, but for training while still at home.)
Have a Jamin day, your name is great.

I will probably mostly read you either through Bloglines or my Friends list I suppose, one way or the other- while I waited for your page to load on my dial-up I vacuumed the house, dusted, painted a doorway, and probably missed a very important tele-marketing call, etc.

Thanks for the recipes.
We have a Queasy Bake Oven. It was a Christmas gift to the boys. It's like the same thing. I plan on letting my little dd use it.
