My 12 year old loves Sushi and all things Japan! So when I found the instructions for Mock Sushi on the
Family Fun website I knew we had to make it for his birthday yesterday.
What
is Mock Sushi? It is basically a marshmellow treats with gummy
worms in the middle and fruit by the foot fruit rolls on the
outside! Very cute, very fun to make and tasty too!
Click here to get the recipe and watch a video on how to make it.
Melt Butter and Marshmellows in a pan.
Mix in the Rice Cripsies!
Press out Rice Crispies on a cookie sheet.
Roll gummy worms in the treats and cut log into pieces.
Wrap Fruit By The Foot around each piece. (Make sure to eat a few while doing this step!)
Sushi is served! These taste best when eaten with friends!
Make sure to go for a swim with your friends when your done to burn off all those yummy calories!

mmmm! looks good. I've also seen them made with twinkies as the 'rice' and you shove gummies in the middle, then wrap it with what you wraped yours with. :) I love real sushi too!

I want to try making these sushi candies! That's so neat, and for a candy, not nearly as bad for kids!

I think it would also be cute to use gummy sea creatures or Swedish fish! Hehe!

Hello, what a great Idea to make Sushi snacks. I'm from California, and Sushi is fairly common here, I encourage you to buy/borrow some books on making sushi. It's fairly easy (especially the rolls!) and extremely creative. The artistic aspect is similar to that of making fimo clay beads. Anyway, I wanted to give you a link along the snack side of fun sushi, and it's from notmartha.org Here you go!

Check her site out, I've also done the jello fruit ( i did it for a party, so it was alcoholic, but OF COURSE jello can be non alcoholic!!!) The jello fruit is where you use the peel of an orange to set jello in, then slice like a normal orange (or any fruit). It's adorable, and good for kids parties (helps keep them a little away from candy).
