Teaching Left and Right
Posted in My Homeschool FAQs
Here is another thing
I assume everyone already knows, but I will post it just in case...
To help your children remember which hand is left have them hold up both hands in front of them with thumbs extended. Now fold down all but the pointer finger and thumb.

The hand that the thumb and pointer finger form an
L is the LEFT!
How, "handy"! (Bad pun, I know, but how could I resist?) LOL
On another note....(Begin violin music here.)

I wanted to say thank you to all of you who stop by my blog and say hello. I am sorry I have not been visiting all of your blogs much latley. Since my laptop died I am finding it very difficult to get onto the family computer (Which I have to share! Can you imagine such a thing!) and visit blogs. I MISS seeing what everyone else is doing! Somehow, I just barely get my daily blog post written when it's my "turn" on the computer. I hope to someday get another laptop.
(End violin music...)

For the longest time I didn't understand that "left" thing, because when people told me to hold my hands out, I did it Palms UP, which means the right hand makes the "L..."

My 6-year-old has been having a time with the "left" thing as it pertains to table setting. The napking and fork go on the left, but she usually gets confused and puts it on the right! I have threatned, beaten, and drawn a diagram on a mat--but if the mat is not there, she gets confused. I will use this "trick" tonight.
You are a wonderful, crafty mom---I'm blessed to be in your company!
