My daughter and I made a little Halloween Lapbook. Originally I wasn't planning this as a lapbook. I downloaded some worksheets about Halloween from http://www.schoolexpress.com just because I thought she would enjoy the word searchs, spelling words, etc. I also thought it would be a good chance to talk to her about Halloween saftey. Once we did the worksheets she wanted to put it in a lapbook. Here is what we came up with. Here is the cover.

This is the first time we have put a closure on a lapbook. I like it! I think it will be much easier to store.
The Inside

She has a word search and Q&A's in the Library pocket. The 2 booklets in the middle have a story she dictated about Halloween and a drawing of her in her costume. The right flap has some vocabulary words she wrote out and a crossword puzzle. She LOVED the crossword and word search. It was the 1st time she had done those.
The Back

This was an original idea by my 5 year old! She punched holes around the edge of the paper and made a lacing card. I thought it came out very cute and is very good for her eye hand coordination. We'll be doing this again! We also have her name, date and grade on the back as well as the website address where I got the printouts.
Hard at work!

Here she is making the lacing card for the back cover.
Happy Halloween!
