Have you ever heard The Legend of The Donkey?  Monday we took the kids to this really cool Petting Zoo. One of the animals they had were Donkeys.  I was reminded of the Legend of The Donkey .  Last year we went to visit some friends of ours that live out on a farm.  They had a Donkey and were telling us that ever since the Donkey carried Jesus into Jerusualem and saw him die on the cross they have had a cross in their fur on their back.  Cool, huh?

I thought this might be something cool to remind the kids of when we were setting up our Nativities.

I must be getting in the Christmas Spirit if even a trip to the petty zoo has me thinking about the holidays!

I had heard the legend of the donkey before, but had kind of forgotten it. I'll look for that book to add to our Christmas collection!

And it just makes me want a donkey even more now. I find that I want so many animals because of the spiritual lessons I see in them - sheep especially!

Wow I never knew that! I did a google search looking at the crosses on various types of donkeys and found this interesting article about 1/2 zebra + 1/2 donkey animals! I never knew they existed.
