Living in a desert climate during the holidays is something I may never adjust to. I grew up in the Midwest with snow and cold blustery weather, and while I don't miss the actual coldness, I do miss the romantic notion of a white Christmas...Well, in the spirit of "When in Rome do as the Romans do" last night we went to a local Cactus Garden Christmas Light display. 250,000 lights all wrapped around cactus! Was it pretty? You be the judge?

Yes, it was georgeous! Absoultley stunning! I just couldn't help but wonder how many injuries the poor souls that had to hang all those lights must have suffered! LOL It was actually quite magical walking along the paths and being totally surrounded by lights. In some ways it did remind me of being surrounded by snowfall with a full moon shining bright.
Of course Santa was also on hand. We got off easy this year. The 2 year old told Santa he wanted candy, and the 5 year old asked for "something special". (The 12 year old has entered the state of being only interested in money! LOL)

Christmas is a month from today....Ready or not here it comes!!!!

I miss the cacti at Christmas...I moved from just outside the desert in So Cal to the Midwest a couple of years ago. Thanks for posting those!
You got lucky with the Santa visit! The one and only time we took ds to see Santa (he was 4), he asked for an RV and a pony, lol...I'm a little scared to see what he wants at 9! :-)

I'm so glad that you had to ask about John Elway! I grew up in Kansas too! Hays, to be specific.
