My kids are working on some wonderful projects from Knowledge Box Central for Christmas.
They are:
Christmas Copywork: This copywork notebook is a great way to improve vocabulary, spelling, and penmanship, while celebrating the season. Includes 32 copywork passages, each followed by a picture to color! Comes in K-3rd (Dashed line included in copywork area) and 3rd-5th(regular spaced lines)
I am having my 12 year old do this one. Although it is recommended for younger children he is still working on his cursive handwriting. This is much more fun for him the the boring stuff Mom comes up with! LOL
Christmas Lapbook: Christmas Symbols are all around, but what do they mean? Study about their origins and the legends. What Christmas Symbols do you have in your home? Do you know what they mean? This is a hands-on tool for studying about the most popular holiday celebrated in the United States. Booklets include Carols, Bells, Cards, Santa, Reindeer, Stars, Angels, Holly, Mistletoe, Poinsettias, Gift Giving, Elves, Candles, Trees, Ornaments, Advent, Wreaths, Nativity, and more.
I am having my 12 year old work on this. I like it because he can work on it pretty much all on his own! He likes it because it includes a lot of information on each topic and he doesn't have to search all over to find the answers.
Chrsitmas Games: Includes Fun Activities to help your children enjoy studying Christmas while working on basic skills. Included are crossword, tongue twisters, riddles, math, Christmas traditions, trivia, concentration memory game, gingerbread man, gift tags, games, coloring, birth of Jesus Story, Nativity Scene, scavenger hunt, reinderr, word game, snowman, songs, poems, recipes, letter to Santa, bible verses, and more.
I am doing this one with my 5 year old. She LOVES lapbooking and is really enjoying this one. I like that she is working on her skills, learning a little about Christmas and making a lovely keepsake too!
I did a Christmas unit study years back and we had lots of fun with it. By the way, I love your Christmas bags. I'll have to go to the after Christmas sales and stock up on fabric for next year!
We have homeschooled our children from the start and we love every minute of it! This is my place to share my thoughts on homeschooling, my kids and living for the Lord. All the while being a little outside the box!!
