My 6 year old is at that stage where kids have trouble remembering which letter is b and which is d. Here is how I teach my kids this.
Have them put their hands as shown above. Point out to them that when your hands are held like this they make the shape of a b & d. Now ask them which comes 1st in the alphabet b or d? They will tell you b. Now have tell them that since b comes 1st it shaped the same as the 1st hand when you put your hands like this. The 2nd hand is d. This is a very easy tool for them to use to check and see if they are remembering correctly.
It's as easy as ABC!!!!

Emme does the same thing still, with the "b" and "d", I will try this with her tomorrow! Thanks!
She also makes her 6's backwards all the times.....any suggestions? lol

That is exactly what I needed to know! Well, that's exactly what my soon to be Kindergarten graduate (tomorrow!) needs to know. :-)

This is the first time I've checked out your blog and I will definitly be returning! Thanks for the great tip on the b&d, my soon to be 8yr. old still struggles with reading/recognizing those two letters!
