Well, Summer is upon us and I am looking around to see what inexpensive things I can find to keep my kids busy and give me a break form all the planning at the same time. Usually we spend most of the Summer in our 3000 gallon above ground pool. Since the house is for sale we are not putting the pool up this Summer. Here are some things I am hoping to do to keep my kids happy and make messes outside the house!Idea #1 - Micheal's & Lakeshore Learning:
Micheal's is offering Kid's Club Imagination Saturdays:
Kids ages 5-12 are invited to join 30 minute sessions at 10am, 10:30am, 11am and 11:30am
Cost includes supplies. Click HERE to see a listing of what they will be making each week. You do not need to sign up in advance. Just show up, pay at the register and take your receipt back to the classroom. The cost of the projects are usually $2.00 per child.
They are also offering Kid's Craft Camp:
Kids ages 5-12 are invited to get registered in advance for Micheal's Summer Camp which will be held in July and August. Click HERE to see some of the projects they will be making and see the times and dates of the classes. The cost is $5.00 per 1 hour session.
My kids would LOVE this! Too bad they won't let my 3 year old attend....How am I going to work that out???
Lakeshore Learning also has FREE Saturday crafts for kids from 11:00 - 3:00. Click HERE to see a list of what they are making. Now, my 3 year old could do this one, but the closest Lakeshore Learning is about 45 minutes from my house...
Idea #2 - FREE Movies:
Here is another thing to do with our kids this Summer! Regal Theater has announced their Free Summer Movies! The FREE movies will be every Tuesday and Wednesday Morning at 10:00 a.m. starting June 19th.
Here is the website to find a theater near you!

Some of the movies playing at our local theater for FREE are...
Curious George (G)
Clifford's Really Big Movie (G)
Night At The Museum (PG)
Garfield: A Tail Of Two Kitties (PG)
Charlotte's Web (G)
Jonah: A Veggie Tale Movie (G)
There are quite a few more titles that don't appeal to me, but if we can see 6 free movies this Summer...Hooray!!! The price is right!!!
Disclaimer:
If you and your family do not believe that Christian should see movies please disregard this post. You DO NOT need to leave me a message letting me know you don't approve. I am already aware!

Idea #3 - Mc Donald's Playland:
There is no rule that you have to eat at Mc Donald's to play in the Playland! Were we live it is way too HOT to go to the park in the Summer. Sooooo...We go to Mc Donald's. My kids know I hate the food at Mc Donald's, so they don't expect to eat there. But, I can get a drink for $2.00 and sit and read a book while they play. Sometimes I do get them each a $1.00 Ice Cream Sunday, but what else can 4 people do for a couple housrs for under $5.00?
Idea #4 - VBS:
I know what your thinking...Of course my kids do VBS. But, here's the thing, what if you sent them to more than one? A lot of people in our homeschool group send out an email invitation to the group to join in on VBS at their church. In our City churches start having VBS in June and don't end until the end of August. Usually they are either free or under $10.00 for the whole week! Why not send them to VBS at a friends church? My kids would be happy to go to VBS every week all Summer! LOL
Well, those are my ideas for now. If you have any other suggestions let me know!
