Today was the long anticipated Renaissance Fair! Yeah!!!!
Yes, we are a geeky family who dresses up in costumes to attend a Ren Fair!

Here we are ready to leave for the Fair. BTW, it is a little known historical fact that Ladies of the day wore HOT PINK
Crocs! LOL (Hey, I can only take dressing up so far, then I am in it for comfort!)
Horsey Ride!

Right as we entered the Fair there was this gentleman in a wheelchair. He had made a cover for his chair to look like a horse! My 3 year old went over to look at it and he took him for a ride!

You can tell he loves kids! Here he posed with my gang and even let the 3 year old hold his sword!
We saw juggling...

This was a 100 pound 14 foot long python! My 3 year old loved it! (My daughter and I stayed back! LOL)

The Queen of the Fair

Our little princess!

We saw a jousting tournament

My boys watching the jousting.

Notice the boy next to my 3 year old in the red. Don't they look like twins! This is a homeschool friend of ours and even as the Mom of one of them I have trouble telling them apart! Whenever we are together I am constantly watching the wrong kid! (Once I even scrapbooked a picture of our friends son only to later realize it was NOT my kid! LOL)
We saw a Pirate Bird Show

Our little Page admiring himself in one of the shops.

He LOVED being dressed up and carrying a sword! (This may be my all time favorite picture of him!)
Chain Mail

Shooting off a trebuchet

My gang in front of the castle.

It was fun to hear my daughter spout off all the info she had learned about the Middle Ages from
our recent study. I am glad we did the study and lapbook when we did. this really made History come alive for her!
It was a fun day and my feet barley hurt, thanks to my
Crocs! LOL
I think we may have worn this one out though!

Looks like y'all had a blast! I think I would be more apt to dress up for ours if I could only do a proper accent. If you dress up, people just *expect* you to have an accent! And well, my Texan accent just doesn't cut it very well.

I just read this post of yours~I'm a tad behind. I was wondering if the boy w/o the costum was your son. They really do look alike. Glad I wasn't drinking when I read about your scrapbooking mishap!!! Hopefully you included that little mishap in the journaling :-) I think the final picture of your littlest man is my favorite. I love all the pictures you share on your blog.

I've really been enjoying your blog! We went to a Ren Fair a year and a half ago and we had a blast. My family would love dressing up like that, especially my husband and sons. Love the pictures and your kids are darling!
