My 3 year old has finished his 2nd Lapbook! This kid is on fire for lapbooking!

Homeschool Helper Online allows homeschool parents to contribute their Unit Studies and Lapbooks to share with other homeschoolers!  What an excellent idea!

Here is his lapbook!

Cover:

Inside
The 5 senses booklet - A booklet about what the 5 senses are.
I Smell - Has a paper towel in it with some of Dad's cologne sprayed on it.
I See - has foil inside to make a mirror booklet.
Taste - Had 4 things to taste and then write about them.  (see below)
I Use My 5 Senses - Has different items to consider what sense you use to experience them.  (Dog, flowers & ice cream)

Under the flap:
Loud Sounds Soft Sounds booklet - we wrote some things that fit into each category. 
My Touch Book - Inside we glued things to touch.  (Polar fleece, shop rag, sand paper, duct tape & twist tie.)
Senses Booklet - Has a tab for each sense an we wrote in the booklet things that we use that sense for.

Under flap:
A coloring sheet done by my 3year old.

The taste test...
Here are the things we taste tested...M&M's, Unsweetened Chocolate, Lemon and Pretzels.

One of the things I love about lapbooking is how the kids don't think of it as "school".  While we were working on this one a neighbor stopped by and she said "Oh, am I interrupting school?"  before I could say anything my 3 year old said "No, we are just making a lapbook!"  Then he tried to drag me back to the table to get back to work the whole time I was talking to her!  LOL  I like enthusiasm like that for school!

Now he wants to make a Spiderman lapbook!  LOL  I am thinking maybe I can make it into a Spiderman counting and ABC lapbook? I will let you know what I come up with! (All ideas, links and suggestions regarding the Spiderman theme would be appreciated!) LOL

I have a suggestion for the spiderman lapbook. How about studying spiders in there too. Just a suggestion. There is also a lapbook group called Little laplinks. Each month Valerie asks everyone to hunt links for a specific topic. Then you can go around and snag ideas for a lapbook. Create it the post it for all to see. Heres the link. I have been visitng your blog for quite awhile now, and I love to read about your homeschooling adventures! I did a Charlotte's Web lapbook a few weeks ago with my ds and we have some spider things in it. I think the photos are still on the front page of my blog if you scroll down far enough.

a spiderman lapbook would be to die for! my boys would absolutely flip! oh please oh please, do a spiderman lapbook.

and how do you make school so exciting for your kids? i've had a discouraging morning with whining and hair pulling, trying to balance getting in the 3 r's, some science stuff, some outside time, all the while trying to keep a handle on attitudes, character training, and chores! and it's only 1 pm!

Great Lapbook! You should look into Laplinks at www.Littleblots.com

It is a meme where you provide a link (or more than one) for projects to print and include in a preschoolers lapbook. It makes the prep so much easier! There is a theme each month. This month: pumpkins. My son has LOVED this and now notices pumpkins everywhere!
