More On Moving
Whew! Moving is A LOT of hard work and emotions! I have spent a lot of time laughing at myself over the last 3 weeks! I find that there is a lot of mourning in moving. Mourning and hard work mixed just do weird things to a person! LOL At one point I found myself feeling VERY protective of empty cardboard boxes that were stacked in my driveway, while at the same time I was practically begging a woman to cart off a leather chair worth several hundred dollars for FREE! I knew we didn't have room for the chair in the truck or the new house! But, I NEEDED those boxes! LOL I am SO glad it is all over!
We were SO blessed with HELP as we were packing up our house. I put out an email to all the local homeschoolers who had told me over the last year that they would help and HELP THEY DID! We had people who showed up day after day to pack and clean! What a blessing!! We would not have packed up the whole house and truck in a mere 6 days without each and every person who gave of their time to get us out of there! Sadly I was SO busy I didn't take any pictures of the packing and loading frenzy! I did have a coffee cup for everyone who helped us to sign and that is a real treasure now that we are gone.

Here are some pictures I took on the unloading end. We also had help unloading! The upside of my husband being at his new job 15 months is he has friends at work that showed up to help unload the truck! God is GOOD!
Here is the truck arriving at our new home!
(Did I mention we live on a lovely tree lined street! Having been in the desert for 4 years I can hardly wait for Fall!) YES, the truck was FULL!!! I mean we used every inch of the truck! Plus we ended up mailing 5 boxes and packing our mini van until we looked like the Beverly Hillbillies! LOL (We really should have taken pictures! LOL)
Here the unloading has begun! My husband and our friend Tomi Jo who packed the truck have been declared the Tetris Champions of the World! LOL
Our 4 year old LOVED the truck! (As matter of fact he LOVED everything about moving! LOL) He was a little sad when I told him we didn't get to keep the truck once it was unloaded! We kept saying "our" truck was coming and he thought we had bought it! LOL
This is without a doubt the hardest our 13 year old has ever worked!
His two friends who moved here 18 months before us showed up to help too. I have never seen 3 boys work so hard and have so much fun in my life!
Our little man using his head to unload pillows from the truck!

Here is the a picture of some of the unloaders with the empty truck! YAY!!!!

A HUGE thanks to EVERYONE who made this move possible!!! Thank you Bob, Millie, Tomi Jo, Brian, Diane, Marla, Kelly, Katrina, Bruno, Zorba, Josh, Jennifer, Joey, Adam, John, Callie, Bronwyn, Mike, Alyx, John, Terell and Mark!!! We could not have done it without ALL of you!
Also, a HUGE THANKS to my husband who worked harder than any 40 something should ever have to! Thanks for everything you have done to get our family back under one roof my love!
Now, I am off to unpack boxes!
