For the last few weeks it has felt as if grief has been a constant companion.  I blogged on the 18th that we had had several reminders of how fragile life is lately.  This week we have had some more reminders.

Last night my husband bought me a new (to me) Amy Grant CD.  I have always loved Amy Grants singing.  When my father was alive I get him hooked on her too.  My dad died in 1995 while hospitalized with complications from a lung condition.  I can’t remember all these years later the reason that his van was parked at the hospital.  (Maybe he had drove himself there?)  But, a few hours after he died I found myself alone with my one year old son driving his van home.  When I started up the van Amy Grant’s song In a Little While started playing.  (It was the next song on the cassette he had been listening to.)  I will never forget sitting there and hearing the words from that song wrap around me like a big hug from my dad.  With the timing only God can offer, you will not be surprised that the “new” CD my husband got me yesterday has a new recording of the very same song!  It is just like God to give me another hug, just when I needed it!  Here are the words that have ministered to my heart so well over the years:
