We love magnets at our house! I just ordered a set of the Upper and Lower Case Magnets from the Schoolhouse Store for my 2 youngest kiddos and we are loving them!
These are really great because under each letter there is a picture that helps identify the phonics sound that goes with that letter. This set covers the long AND short vowel sounds which is really great for creating words and learning the phonics sounds. I really like that they included the extra set of vowels. My seven year old and I have been having fun using them to help her remember what the vowels are. My four year old is using them to identify the letters and learn his phonics sounds.
The kids really have been having fun putting together words and then seeing which pictures are in each word. Then they like to make up funny stories or sayings using the pictures. Their favorite word is MOM, the pictures are monkey, old, milk. You can imagine the funny stories that inspires! LOL
The other great thing about these magnets is that each one is fully backed with 1mm magnet so that they stay put on the magnetic surface. We are not finding these all over the floor like other magnets we have used.
If you are looking for some great phonics magnets you will want to check these out!
Happy Homeschooling,
