Several people have emailed me that they are starting their own American Girl Clubs and would like me to post what we are doing each week so they can follow along.
Here is the info on what we did for week three!
Before club the girls read chapters 1 - 3 of book 2 for Samantha. At the beginning of club we sat down and discussed the chapters and they answered questions about the chapters.
Read about the discovery of the terrarium and the fascination with them that people from the Victorian era had with them. Made a small version of nature under glass using a baby food jar, rocks. silk flowers, pearls, ribbon, etc.
Made fun foam gingerbread magnets. (These chapters had several mentions of gingerbread cookies. When I mentioned this to the mom that was hosting us this week she headed off to the kitchen to whip up some gingerbread cookies! This was really fun because the girls got to cut out the cookies and then while they were in the oven we did our craft.)
Read the next section of our victorian era cookbook and from In Samantha's World.
Here is my daughter taking her turn cutting out gingerbread cookies.
Here is our nature under glass project.
Here is a gingerbread man (This one was made by my 4 year old when he was "helping" me get things ready for class.)
Happy Homeschooling,

for posting your fun and sharing your plans. My daughter and I have started planning a homeschool history club and think it will be lots of fun with just a touch of education too. ; ) We have some friends just as excited as us. I check your blog almost everyday and love how much you share.
