Mystery Touch Box
Here is a fun idea that I am incorporating into my weekly ABC Preschool Class. I took a shoebox and cut a hole in the bottom. Then on the outside I cover the hole with felt. Now each week for class I can put a mystery item in the box that starts with the letter of the week. Last week for the letter J I had 3 items for the kids to touch in the box: a small doll jacket, a stuffed jellyfish and jingle bells. (I put them in one at a time.) The only one they figured out were the jingle bells. But the really enjoyed taking turns coming up and feeling each item. After all the kids touched the items and tried to guess what it was I opened the box and showed them. They loved it!
This is a fun new addition to our class! Hmmm, I wonder what I can put in for the letter K...
Happy Homeschooling,
Jamin

You could line the box with plastic wrap and fill it with foods that begin with K.

ok, now you've got me brainstorming - ketchup, kite, kayak, khaki, Kansas (have a puzzle piece you can put in there!)
I'll be thinking of K words while I drive tomorrow!
Sounds like great fun :)

How about a knife! Plastic of course :-) It might also introduce how a K is sometimes silent.
I also wanted to say I enjoy reading your blog and come to check it out several times a week :-) Love it! Thanks :-)
