For week two of Felicity the girls made tea towel aprons. This is a very simple way to make a apron with minimal hand sewing. I bought each girl a tea towel and 2 yards of 3/4 inch grosgrain ribbon. All they had to do was fold the top down enough to make a casing to run the ribbon through. Then they just hand sewed the casing and ran their ribbon through. Viola, they have an apron!
Here are a couple of the girls working on their aprons.
And another girl hard at work stitching...
A few of the finished aprons!
My daughter in her finished apron.
The girls also did the same copywork that Felicity did in this weeks book! "Think ere you speak, for words, once flown, once uttered, are no more your own."
I generated the copywork sheets at http://www.worksheetworks.com/english/writing/handwriting.html
For snack we had gingerbread. I think the girls have a greater appreciation for the snacks now after the Kaya snacks! LOL
They will be very surprised in a few weeks when we have Bannock Cakes again! It seems that the Native American recipe made it's way into the Colonial diet too!
And just in case you ever wondered if the mom's have any fun at American Girl Club... WE DO! LOL
Here is my tea party effort... Yeah, I know the President will never see it, but hopefully some mail clerk is keeping count of how many tea bags are received.
One last thing...While we are on the topic of taxes have you ever wondered what a trillion dollars looks like? Click HERE for an AMAZING visual aid! You may be inspired to send a tea bag to the President too when you see this!
Happy Homeschooling,
Jamin

We have homeschooled our children from the start and we love every minute of it! This is my place to share my thoughts on homeschooling, my kids and living for the Lord. All the while being a little outside the box!!
