While we were in Washington D.C. we tried to make it to as many of the Smithsonian Museums as we could. (There are 19 different Smithsonian Museums in the D.C. area!) In each of them we saw reminders of the movie Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian that came out this weekend! We don't go to a lot of movies in the theater, the cost of a movie for a family of 5 is prohibitive. But, this one we just had to see! And I am please to report we were NOT disappointed!
I was a little confused as to how the movie was going to take place in so many different museums at once. I was hoping they didn't just cop out and make it one big museum. And they didn't! They explain about it being 19 musuems and how they are getting from one to another. Yes, there are a few things you just have to let go (Like for some reason there are no night gaurds in any of the museums.) but, the good totally outweighed the bad!
The special effects were excellent! I especially loved the scenes that took place in the National Portrait Gallery. Seeing the art come to life was spectacular! Amother thing I really liked was that some of the characters were n black and white because they came out of a black and white photo.
It was so fun to see so many of the places we had visited again so soon! We can all hardly wait for the movie to come out on DVD so we can watch it again and again! The entire theater laughed all the way through the movie. And my 5 year old loved that Darth Vadar AND the Cookie Monster made cameo appearances! LOL
I don't want to tell you too much, because you must go see it for yourself! But, I will leave you with a picture of the airplane that Ameila Earhart flies in the movie!
This is the sign about the plane.
And here is Amelia Earharts jacket, goggles and radio.

We have homeschooled our children from the start and we love every minute of it! This is my place to share my thoughts on homeschooling, my kids and living for the Lord. All the while being a little outside the box!!
