jayfromcleveland -- a christian homeschool dad from cleveland, ohio

cleveland, ohio is a place that looks the same in black and white and color photographs; it is a city of sharp contrasts and shades of grey; a single city that was once two, forevermore divided along east and west; where the Sun doesnt shine at all for half the year, and yet is one of the sunniest places in the USA for the other half; the birthplace of Superman and home to many an average joe; a place of tremendous creativity... home of many artists, musicans, actors and inventors -- and an otherwise hard-knuckle, provincial midwestern city; a place where people are friendly, helpful and generous... just don't get on their bad side; a place of hope and despair, where the light of Jesus shines in many an otherwise dark heart....

"Glacial Plane of Wondrous Natural Beauty"

Here's some pix from down along the Chippewa Creek gorge in Brecksville Reservation, in a suburb of Cleveland.  This is one of my favorite places in the world.  This gorge (and the many others in the Cleveland area) is said to have been formed by glaciers.  It's a really awesome place.  The pix do the rocks no justice at all.  (BTW, this is not what we mean by "Cleveland Rocks"!)

This was the place where my buddy Joe baptized me years ago.  On the day of these pix, I had just baptized my sons Happy and Spamaghetti.

What a beautiful and memorable place to be baptized! I was baptized in a small pond where the scum had to be removed first. :-) Anyway, it's not the place that matters as much as the transaction being done by God. ("Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the 'operation' of God, who hath raised him from the dead." Colossians 2:12) Hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

And I love that YOU baptized your sons.. My hubby baptized me years ago, and plans to baptize our kids too, soon as it warms up! Our son said "he doesn't want to baptized in a church, but outside in real water, not the chlorine water" LOL! Beautiful pics, thanks for sharing! I like your blog's new look, lovely shots of you and Debbie, then and now.

AWESOME Jay!
