• Jul. 19, 2006 - We Did It!!!!!!!!!

We survived three whole days, in scorching heat, without air conditioning!!! Not by choice, I might add! Our A/C had been making a funny noise for a couple of days, so I called the couple we rent from. They sent someone out to look at it. He was very prompt and tried to fix it. But, the unit was really old and on it's last leg. It worked for a couple more days and then decided to konk out on Saturday evening. I called to tell them the bad news and they were so nice about it. They replaced the unit yesterday so we have a nice cool house again. A friend fom church loaned us a window unit and we camped out in the living room Sunday and Monday night! It was a life saver because it was HOT!!!!!! The hottest days of the year! I was proud of the kids for their good attitudes about it. We got up and did chores and stuff before it got hot in the house. We got alot accomplished before ten o'clock!! LOL Mike and I made sure the kids knew that we were blessed and that we need to be thankful that we have A/C.

Oh, I would've hated that. But you gotta do what you gotta do and at least you had a window unit. My kids and I were wondering the other day...Just how did they make it in the pioneer days.

Good Day!

like a cool house, that remind us of how blessed we are! Don't know how you did it. I might of been running for the nearest hotel. Yesterday here in So.CA, it was a real scorcher. The temp at our house hit 108! The air never stopped running. My hubby is a bit afraid of that bill that will show up. EEKKKKK!
