Cheat: Alternate Music
To listen to alternative music tracks on select stages press and hold either one of the two analog trigger buttons (L or R) when picking your stage. The following stages have alternate music tracks available:
  • Great Bay: Saria's Song
  • Hyrule Temple: Fire Emblem
  • Icicle Mountain: Balloon Fight
  • Big Blue: Mach Rider
  • Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Bros. 3
  • Onett: Earthbound (2)
  • Pokemon Stadium: Pokemon Battle Theme
  • Mushroom Kingdoms I and II: Dr. Mario
  • Battlefield: Multi-Man Melee Theme
  • Final Destination: Alternate SSBM Theme
Unlockable: Stages
SSB Melee has a lot of stages to select from. While the select screen only indicates you can unlock five there are actually more than that. Note that there is a certain random element to the unlocking of the first four stages. Sometimes, the first stage you unlock isn't Brinstar. If it didn't unlock at 50 matches, it will unlock at 100, 150, or 200.
  • Planet Zebes: Brinstar Depths (Metroid) -- Play 50 Vs. matches.
  • Eagleland: Fourside (Earthbound) -- Play 100 Vs. matches.
  • F-Zero Grand Prix: Big Blue (F-Zero) -- Play 150 Vs. matches.
  • Kanto Skies: Pokι Floats (Pokιmon) -- Play 200 Vs. matches.
  • Mushroom Kingdom II (Super Mario Bros. 2) -- Get Birdo or Pidgit trophy from Super Mario Bros. 2.
  • Superflat World: Flat Zone (Game & Watch) -- Unlock Mr. Game & Watch and defeat Classic mode with him.
  • Battlefield -- Defeat All-Star Mode (secret mode) with any character.
  • Final Destination -- Clear all 51 Event Matches.
  • Dream Land (Classic N64 Kirby Stage) -- Complete Target Test successfully with all 25 characters.
  • Yoshi's Island (Classic N64 Yoshi Stage) -- Hit 1,323 feet  (or more) in the Homerun Contest with Yoshi.
  • Kongo Jungle (Classic N64 DK Stage) -- Finish 15-minute Melee with any character (Tip: use Donkey Kong with his down+B ground slap).

Random Stage Switch -- Unlock all secret stages (except for the classic N64 stages and Battlefield and Final Destination)  to reveal a random stage switch. As soon as you start your melee from the character select screen the match will start. This means you don't have to waste time loading the stage select menu.

Unlockable: Hidden Characters
Naturally Super Smash Bros. Melee is filled with playable characters. There are 14 selectable as soon as you boot it up, but you'll find another 11 waiting for you to be unlocked for a total cast lineup of 25 characters. There are genuinely new characters as well as clones. Clones usually share the same moves and attacks as one of the main characters with some subtle adjustments. Apparently there are several ways of unlocking characters either via Vs. matches or single-player mode. Once the conditions are met, the secret character will appear and challenge you to a battle. Win the battle, and you get the character. Here's the ways to do it:

  • Jigglypuff -- Clear Adventure or Classic mode with any character or play Vs. more than 50 times.
  • Luigi -- Luigi's appearance depends entirely on your level time for the first Adventure mode level. The time stops the moment you jump the "flag" finish line at the end of the Mushroom Kingdom sidescrolling level. Look at your seconds counter and try to time it so that you get a "2" (as in Luigi, the #2 Mario Brother) in your seconds (like 22, 52, 24, etc). If you got it right, you will see Luigi appear over Princess Peach's Castle in Adventure mode during a cut-scene. Complete the Adventure and he will appear after the credits. Or: Play Vs. Mode more than 800 times.
  • Young Link (Clone of Link) -- Clear Classic or Adventure mode with 10 characters (two of which have to be Link and Zelda/Sheik) or complete 500 Vs. matches.
  • Dr. Mario (Clone of Mario) -- Clear Classic or Adventure mode with Mario without using continues (Tip: use Very Easy difficulty) or play more than 100 Vs. matches.
  • Ganondorf (Clone of Captain Falcon) -- Clear Event Match 29 or play more than 600 Vs. matches.
  • Pichu -- Clear 200 Vs. Matches, clear Event Match 37, or conquer Classic mode with Mewtwo.
  • Marth -- Use the original 14 characters at least once in Vs. or another regular mode, or play more than 400 Vs. matches.
  • Roy (Clone of Marth) -- Clear Classic Mode with Marth without using a continue or play more than 900 Vs. matches.
  • Falco (Clone of Fox) -- Clear 300 Vs. Matches or beat the 100-Man Melee.
  • Mewtwo -- Rack up 20:00 hours in Combined Vs. Play Time or play 700 Vs. matches.
  • Mr. Game & Watch -- Clear Target Test, Classic, or Adventure mode with all 24 characters. Or: play more than 1,000 Vs. matches.

Unlockable: Fight Big Kirby
In adventure mode, if you beat the Kirby Team in less than a minute, you will fight a bigger, fatter, version of Kirby.
Submitted by kyriin
Unlockable: Start Battle as Sheik
Want to start a battle as Sheik, not as Zelda? Keep on holding down the A button when you pick Zelda on the character select screen. When the battle begins, you will hear the "unlock chime" from Legend of Zelda and you will start out as Sheik.

Alternate method by steve the gamegod is to choose Zelda, then highlight a stage and press L and/or R when confirming your choice. When the match begins, you will hear a chime and Shiek will appear on the screen instead of Zelda.
Submitted by IGN Guides
Unlockable: Hidden Modes
There are several hidden modes of play hidden within the single-player mode as well as the options menu. Event Matches are a huge part of single-player and at first sight it appears there are only 30. However, as you unlock new characters and stages new Event challenges will be revealed.
  • Event Matches 31-39 -- You'll need to unlock Jigglypuff, Luigi, Dr. Mario, Falcon, and Young link on top of clearing the first 30 Event Matches.
  • Event Matches 40-50 -- Unlock all hidden characters and stages.

As a special treat there is an extra Event Match that allows you to unlock the special Sound Test feature in the options menu.

  • Event Match 51 -- Clear all previous events.
  • Sound Test -- Unlock every stage and character.

For die-hard players, there is also a hidden Score Display option:

  • Score Display -- Get a total of 5000 KOs and you will unlock this option that lets you see the players' scores during a match (instead of afterwards).

Finally there is a secret All-Star mode which sends you fighting all 25 characters in a gauntlet-type setup. You will have access to three heart recovery items, but no more so you'll have to ration your energy properly.

  • All-Star mode -- Unlock all 25 secret characters.

It should be noted that there are numerous hidden trophies that unlock randomly with your progress, so be sure to keep your Vs. Match count high and complete as much as possible if you're looking for more trophies.

Hint: Home Run Hit (Alternate)
The Sandbag Trophy is very simple to get. Another user said to use Yoshi to get it, but its much easier to get if you use Fox. First, pick up the bat, then slowly move towards the sandbag. Then, hit it once with the bat while Fox is stationary. This should knock the bag very close to the edge (this may take a few tries, but you'll get it eventually). Then rapidly hit the B button (but don't touch the control stick); Fox will use his blaster gun on the sandbag thus upping the hit percentage, but the sandbag won't move. After you hear the announcer countdown to TWO, let off the B button and tap over and A to charge the bat, you should have enough time to hit the bag with about one second left. Having a higher percentage of hits on the sandbag makes it travel much farther. Using this method I got it to travel past 1000 yards, which is needed for the Sandbag Trophy.
Submitted by furious styles
Hint: Homerun (Roy)
Use Roy and his UP + A on the bag about three or four times. While the bag is in the air and there's about 3 seconds left, use Roy's Charge B move to send it flying past 1500 ft.
Submitted by J2k
Hint: Reduce Lag Time
To cut your lag time after performing an aerial move in half, press L right when you're about to land on the ground.
Submitted by HAK
Hint: Beating the 100 Man Spar
Here is one of the easier ways to beat the 100 man spar. Keep using DK's hand slap. Sometimes the wire frames won't come down, so you can get under the ledge where they're standing on and then hit them from below.
Submitted by Kloud
Hint: Donkey Kong's Home Run Hit
Grab the punchbag and toss it the way you're facing--you'll lift it on your back. Now, run off the field with the bag on your back and when the timer gets to "2" seconds or less throw the bag!
Submitted by NightQuest
Hint: Quick Reset
If you are anywhere, such as the Melee battle screen, and you want to get back to the main screen, just press L + R + START you'll be instantly transported to the main menu.
Submitted by Sameer
Hint: Fun With Trophies
While going to the Collection screen to view your trophies, hold L and the trophies will be displayed in rows. Hold R and the trophies will be arranged in a circle. Hold Y and the trophies will be arranged in a triangle.

If you have Sound Test unlocked, note that the last music you listened to will also play while you view your trophies.

Submitted by IGN Guides
Hint: Pick Your Pose
You can select the pose your character strikes when you win a battle. Simply press B, X, or Y when the match ends. Each button corresponds to a specific winning pose.
Submitted by IGN Guides
Hint: Easier 15 Minute Melee
To beat 15 minute melee the easy way, try Mewtwo and go to either edge of the arena. Once you get there, do the B attack and just let the fighters run into you, they rarely hit you and they run into the ball charging.
Submitted by Redlinkmaster
Hint: Home Run with Link
To get an easy home run use Link or Young Link. Stand at the beginning stance and use full blast arrows. This will put percentage on it and move it towards the edge. Now pick up the bat and do a smash attack. This should send the bag over 700 feet!
Submitted by Link
Hint: Home Run Hit
To get the needed distance in Home Run Hit (for some trophies) you will need to use Yoshi. Get the bat, then use Yoshi's DOWN+B jumping attack (the paddle kick) to increase the tampon/bag's percentage as much as possible. Five (5) full contact paddle kicks will be enough to send the giant tampon/bag flying with a Bat smash attack (TOWARDS+A).
Submitted by Simalcrum
Hint: Extend Samus' Grappling Beam
Rotate the D-PAD in a clockwise or counter-clockwise direction very quickly while pressing Z, R, and A. Done correctly, this will lengthen Samus' grappling hook for the duration of the match, but she will no longer automatically grab onto enemies unless you press the A button.
Submitted by VenomOfChaos
Hint: Super Shield
Sure, you know that hitting L or R brings up a protective shield -- but how about making it last longer? When blocking, hit L or R lightly (not all the way). This will create a much larger Super Shield that shrinks at a much slower rate than the standard shield. The downside is that it's not as strong. If you want a more powerful shield, press L/R all the way.
Submitted by IGN Guides
Hint: Peach's Quick Float
In Super Smash Bros. Melee, Princess Peach is the ultimate throwback to Super Mario Bros. 2. Everything from plucking radishes from the ground to using her dress to float for long distances. Her dress is without a doubt one of her most useful tools. Knowing that Peach fanatics want to use it liberally, the developers of the game, HAL, have added in a quick float feature. Instead of having to jump full height to activate the float, you can press Down + X/Y at any time to start floating. Hold the button down to continue hovering. Use it while standing, and you can even hover inches above the ground if you like! A graceful girl indeed.
Submitted by IGN Guides
Hint: Earn More Coins
Did you know that the amount of coins you receive after a match is directly related to how often you "smash" the stick during battle? If you want to make easy money, enter the Adventure Mode and make your way all the way through the first level. But before you exit, stand on a secure platform and wiggle the control stick right and left "Decathlon" style. You don't even need to complete smash moves -- moving the stick all the way is enough to earn cash. When you exit and finish the stage you will receive a much higher number of coins. You can do this in any mode or on any level, but you get a lower amount of coins in Vs. Mode (unless all players do this trick at the same time).
Hint: Call Team Star Fox
Want to surprise your friends with an unexpected move? Fox McCloud has a cool easter egg maneuver that can only be pulled off on the Great Fox and Venom stages. Find yourself a safe spot where you won't immediately be attacked by an opponent, then rapidly press left, right, left, right on the digital pad. If you did it correctly, Fox will kneel down and call up his friends. Falco, Peppy and Slippy will respond (their faces will appear at the bottom of the screen) and either give you useless advice or tell you to get out of the way as they're about to attack your opponent. Not a very useful move, but a cool thing to amaze your friends with nevertheless. Note that you can only perform this maneuver once every battle.
Submitted by IGN Guides
Hint: Random Character Select
Super Smash Bros. Melee has a built-in random character select feature. Simply place your coin in one of the empty spaces on the selection screen (in the corner next to Pichu or on the opposite site). The game will automatically place your token on a random character.
Hint: Random Character Tournaments
Want to set up a more interesting tournament with your friends? When you're at the character/name setup screen in Tournament Melee mode, press the L and R buttons at the same time to change your character icon to Ditto (the shapeshifter of Pokemon fame). This will set that player's character selection to random. Note that this will only work in the Winner Out/Loser Out modes -- not the standard Tournament setting.
Submitted by IGN Guides
Hint: Easy Back From Select
Want to get back to the previous menu from the character select screen, but don't want to waste time going up and clicking on "back?" Here's a little shortcut: simply hold down the B button and the cancel command will be triggered after a second or so.
Hint: Fox and Falco's Fake Trick
Use Fox or Falco's Forward + B attack and press B exactly when you hear the wooshing sound and he will stay where he is or it'll make his attack shorter. This can be used to fool other gamers or just make it shorter so you don’t fall off the edge.

Atomic Boo and Lucky Start

Platform: GameCube

In Creepy Steeple, after you've freed the Boos, stand still in the main room.Wait for some Boos to start sticking to you, the use your Super Hammer attack to shake them off. Do this twice, and the Boos will get mad and form the Atomic Boo. When beaten, he will drop the Lucky Start badge. This is needed if you want to fill up your Tattle Log and get all badges.

Audience Awakening

Platform: GameCube
Submitted by: Dennis Dreessen ( gamecubefreak1988 (@t) msn.com )

When the audience in battle are sleeping, you can wake them by using the "Quake Hammer" or Using Bobbery with his "Bob-ombast" move

Note: Quake Hammer Badge, or Bobbery, and two upgrades are required!

Defeating Hooktail

Platform: GameCube

Before fighting Hooktail, get the Sound Changing Badge in the jail cell. The sound is a cricket noise, and is Hooktail's weakness.

Defeating the Shadow Queen

Platform: GameCube

Make sure that you have 60 HP, 60 FP, and 30 BP. When you fight her just as Peach use Vivian as your partner. Then. use the spinning jump and Vivian's Shade Fist until the Shadow Qween turns into her other form. Then switch to Koops. Use his power shell to attack the hands and the body. Then, use the Power Smash badge. Also, when she adds 7 more to her next attack, use either Koops' Shell Shield or Vivians Veil. Make sure both Koops' and Vivian's level is at the highest. Repeat this and you should be able to win. Do not forget to heal and make sure you have a lot of Life Shrooms.

Duplicate = Experience

Platform: GameCube
Submitted by: Dennis Dreessen ( gamecubefreak1988 (@t) msn.com )

Required:

- 1 Fire Drive Badge
- 4 or more Super Appeal Badges

If you have that, look for a Lava Bubble (a Red Flame), Ember (a Blue Flame), or Phantom Ember (a Green Flame), start a fight against them.

Use the Fire Drive Badge to heal and Duplicate them, and next defeat these guys, but let one allive! Repeat this trick to get major Star Points. And use the Sweet Treat or Sweet Feast to heal your HP but also FP to use Fire Drive.

Easy Money

Platform: GameCube

Once you've gotten to PetalBurg in the First Chapter you can use a trick to make easy money. First go to RougePort and buy as many sleepy sheep as you can carry, making sure to fill up your storage box aswell. When your pockets and storage box is full, head over to PetalBurg. Once at Petalburg, go into the Item Shop to sell your sleepy sheep for a 2 coin profit per sheep. Make sure you remember to withdraw and sell all the sleepy sheep you stored. To increase productivity, on the way back to rougueport, stock up on turtley leaves, again filling up the storage box, and sell them at the item shop where you picked up the sleepy sheep to gain 2 coins per leaf. After getting Taste T. you can cook the leaves into koopa tea for an extra 1 coin per leaf.

Easy Star points

Platform: GameCube

When you get into the Glitz Pit, fight until you are near rank 7 or 8. You should now be fighting 'the fuzz'. Kill the black Fuzzie that has 3 HP then kill the Flower Fuzzy (pinky). Next, keep the green one near 1 HP remaining. He will split in two. Kill one of them (always leave one alive). It also helps when you have Koops out for a partner. Just leave Mario in front and Koops in back and use his Shell Shield (new attack when you upgrade him). Every time that it breaks, put a new one on. It helps to have some Happy Heart or Happy Flower badges equipped. Keep doing this and you can get 50 Star points in about five minutes.

Free Spell

Platform: GameCube
Submitted by: Dennis ( gamecubefreak1988 (@t) msn.com )

find a Save Block and Save.
next, Take the Warp Pipe on the east from the rogueport.
and go left where you reach a little town with a house,
near to a weird blue creature that holds a bag (Dazzle)
enter the house that stands left from Dazzle.
you wil find here the Fortune-Teller Merluvlee.
Tell her wat you want to let her divine.
after the spell, write down what she says by your adventure,
Shine Sprite, or Star Piece.
If you have it, turn your gamecube off and on.
now you will start by the place where you saved last.
so you can use her spell what you've write down, and you don't have to pay for the spell!!

Free Tattle

Platform: GameCube

Go to Profesor Frankly's office and press the big green button (A) at his garbage and info about a random enemy and is transferred to your tattle log.

Ghost's Curse

Platform: GameCube

This really won't help you in your game, in fact, save before you do this, or you'll lose some game data. When you find the Ragged Diary in the Excess Train's Baggage Cart after meeting the ghost, read the diary and the ghost will appear out of nowhere really angry and curse Mario, transforming Mario into a dead spirit, earning you an instant game over.

Infinite Shop Points

Platform: GameCube

First you will have to have given Zest T. her new contact lense. Then buy a lot of mushrooms at the shop in RoguePort for 5 coins each. Then cook them all into Shroom Frys at Zest T.'s. You can sell the Shroom Frys back for 5 coins, the same price you paid for the mushrooms. Using this you can gain free shop points. Note: This trick only works once you have Zest T.

Inn Money

Platform: GameCube

Sleep 50 times in the inns, it doesn't matter if you went to different inns. After you sleep 50 times, a photographer will appear and congratulate you, and then he'll give you 200 coins.

Level up tips

Platform: GameCube
Submitted by: Andrew Bernish ( Christine_Gradisher (@t) yahoo.com )

As you level up I have some reasons why you should raise Bp(Badge points) and Fp(Flower points)more then Hit points becuase without Bp and Fp you will take longer to beat your enemys and you wont be able to use many moves that require Fp and in order to use the Fp you need bages. The thing is with Hp is that you will live longer but with take to much damge in one decent battle.

Luigi clothes

Platform: GameCube

To get Luigi's clothes, go to where you get the sixth crystal star. From here, do a spring jump up to a pole on the left side. Do another spring jump to reach a ledge with the Luigi Emblem.

Missing Tattle Logs

Platform: GameCube

Missed any Tattle Logs, particularly boss logs? They are not gone for good. Check Professor Frankly's yellow trash can. You will find Tattle Logs thrown away for bosses and other once-only enemies. The log will only appear in the trash once you've gone past the last possible point to Tattle that enemy.

Ms. Mowz

Platform: GameCube

In story mode, you will get six characters (Goombella, Koops, Madame Flurrie, Yoshi, Vivian, and Admiral Bobbery). However after Chapter 4, go to the Trouble Center and take the chore of the mystery person. You will figure out that it is the mouse thief and when the mission is over you get the partner Ms. Mowz.

Shadow Palace Maze

In the shadow palace you will eventually run into a hallway with 4 doors and many stairs. This is a maze. All of the rooms look the same except for one thing: the torches. Follow the position of the flame (and the door nearby) to get through the maze.

Solution to Petuni's Question

Platform: GameCube
Submitted by: Dennis Dreessen ( gamecubefreak1988 (@t) msn.com )

Select the next words in order: Mario - Likes - Wich Person - The Most?

After that, Petuni will give you an Mystic Egg = Replenishes 5 HP

Note: This will only happen after defeating the boss in Chapter 2.

Star Pieces Lots of Coins

Platform: GameCube
Submitted by: Brandon ( drjeice (@t) hotmail.com )

Find some star pieces then trade them to the badge selling guy in the rougeport sewers. Get badges you don't want,or need. Sell them at the badge shop, and they will give you a massive amount of coins for the badges you traded in with star pieces. Volla!I went in with 5 coins and came out 423 coins richer.

Style

Platform: GameCube

Directly after a hammer attack, or at the highest point after a jump attack, tap A again and Mario will do a stylish trick earning him more star points. This works for his allies as well. Tap A directly after doing Koops shell throw and he will spin on his back earning more style.

Super Mario World music

Platform: GameCube

When you get an important e-mail (ie; the e-mails from Princess Peach), wait a couple of seconds and you will hear music from Super Mario World.

The Secret Behind the Title

Platform: GameCube

The big ship you see there has pulleys and chains. Well, back in the old days during pirate time, Captains would keelhaul shipmates by tying them to pulleys and lowering them in the water. Thus, leading the pulleys to the other side of the ship, scraping the shipmates on the bottom of the ship. Many pirates died from lack of air and injuries back then.

Timing For Styles

Platform: GameCube

To get help on landing those Stylish moves, get the badge called "Time Tutor" or "Timing Tutor" or something similar to that. With that badge equipped, when you are in battle, if there is an opportunity to add a little Style to your attacks and moves, a little "!" speech bubble will appear above your character at the moment you should press the A Button.

Tips on the 100 Trial

Platform: GameCube
Submitted by: Andrew Bernish ( Christine_Gradisher (@t) yahoo.com )

If you wish to go all the way to "100" you must be at a level higher then "30". You should consider raising badge points instead of Hp points because there will be very, very, powerful enemys. So have Badge points over "40" and get two defense badges, one power plus badge, power smash( I thinks thats what its called), Hp and Fp up bages to increase your max Hp and Fp.(at least two each). and a heart and flower finder badge, just until you get over level "60" or "70". SPIKE BAGDE ( VERY IMPORTANT ).

Your first time, you will have to see for your self how hard the enemys are. It took me "4" times to get there. Remember to get "3" ultra shrooms and Life Shrooms and alot of money to buy supplies from the seller from time to time.

At the end there will be Hooktail's oldest brother Bonetail! (100ed level. he will attack with a stomping attack and many kinds of breaths that do "8" damage each and do sleepiness, confusing, and a few others.

Tips: Rare items

Platform: GameCube
Submitted by: Andrew Bernish ( Christine_Gradisher (@t) yahoo.com )

When you get the mouse character you can make her sniff out coins, bages, items, and star pieces. If there is a item in the area, but you can't seem to find it, use the ground pound (A then A), look behind things that you can't see (like behind a bush). If that doesn't work then use your partners ability's around the area that is close to the item.

Turn into NES Mario

Platform: GameCube

Just like in the first Paper Mario, there is an easter egg to revert Mario from paper to 8-bit sprite. Only this time it works on your partners too! In the X-Naut Base in Chapter Seven. Find the room with the swinging grate on Sublevel 2. Stand under it and use your Ultra Jump to jump up into the air vent. Press R and slide through the grate on the far right. You'll land in the changing room where Peach disguised herself, inside one of the stalls. When you pull back the curtain, you and your partner will be a sprite. This change does not affect game play and will wear off when you leave the room.

Turtley Leaves = More money!

Platform: GameCube
Submitted by: IMAGIN3000 ( c_p_finch (@t) yahoo.co.uk )

If you go to Petalburg, then find the Turtly Leave in the Mayor's front garden. When you have this go to Rougueport and ask Zess.T to cook it. When she has it will be Koopa Tea! Sell it at the shop in Rougueport and you will get a profit of 1 coin than when you just sold it before it was cooked. Also if you do this with mushrooms then you wil get shop points for nothing.

Various Hints

Platform: GameCube

You can skip atomic boo then come back for him later.

If you have zap tap on, enemies like fuzzies and swoopulas can't hurt you.

To get information that you need to pay for eg. how to get to don pianta, stories, old wonkey. You can save, then listen to them, then reset to keep your cash.

You can't have more than 999 coins.

Waluigi clothes

Platform: GameCube

Equip both the Luigi Emblem and the Wario Emblem at the same time. Your clothes will be exactly like Waluigi's.

Wario clothes

Platform: GameCube

To get Wario's clothes for Mario, go to the central area of Rougeport with 360 Coins. There should be a merchant with a large mustache. He sells something called a Wario Emblem from time to time. It is a badge that requires no badge points to wear.

Whack a Mole

Platform: GameCube

In chapter 5 on Keelhaul Key, walk to the northwest of the camp. Talk to the mole and hit him with your hammer he will leave behind a bump, get the bump. You can leave the area and go back there again to repeat this. You can sell the bump at the store for 50 bucks.

Yoshi's color

When naming a game, use a color for your name and Yoshi will be that color.

How to make balloon animals

Posted in Cool Stuff

  1. Balloon Dog:
  2. First, blow up the balloon. Leave about two inches at the end uninflated. Tie the other end of the balloon.
  3. Put your hands next to each other near the knot and turn them in opposite directions. Twist one medium bubble and two small bubbles. Hold onto the twists so they don't untwist. This may take some practice before you get good at it.
  4. Twist the two small bubbles together. To do this, put them next to each other and twist their bottoms together so they're connected. Now you should have the dog's head and ears. The knot is its nose.
  5. Then, twist a small bubble and two medium bubbles. Put the two medium bubbles together so they're next to each other and twist the bottoms together. Now you have the dog's neck and her two front legs.
  6. At the end of the balloon, make a small bubble and then two more medium bubbles. Put the two medium bubbles together so they're next to each other and twist the bottoms together. Now you have your dog's two back legs and her tail.
  7. Using a marker, add eyes, mouth, and a collar.
  8. Balloon Giraffe:
  9. First, blow up the balloon. Leave about two inches at the end uninflated. Tie the other end of the balloon.
  10. Put your hands next to each other near the knot and turn them in opposite directions. Twist one medium bubble and two small bubbles. Hold onto the twists so they don't untwist. This may take some practice before you get good at it.
  11. Twist the two small bubbles together. To do this, put them next to each other and twist their bottoms together so they're connected. Now you should have the giraffe's head and ears. The knot is its nose.
  12. Now, twist one really long bubble for the giraffe's neck, and two large bubbles for the giraffe's two front legs. Put the two large bubbles together so they're next to each other and twist the bottoms together. Now you have the giraffe's head, neck, and two front legs.
  13. At the other end of the balloon, make a small bubble and two large bubbles. Put the two large bubbles together so they're next to each other and twist the bottoms together. Now you have the giraffe's two back legs and her tail.
  14. Using a marker, add eyes and a mouth to your giraffe.
  15. Balloon Bumblebee:
  16. First, blow up the balloon. Leave about two inches at the end uninflated. Tie the other end of the balloon.
  17. Put your hands next to each other near the knot and turn them in opposite directions. Twist one small bubble and one large bubble. Hold onto the twists so they don't untwist. This may take some practice before you get good at it.
  18. Twist the two bubbles together. To do this, put them next to each other and twist their bottoms together so they're connected. Now you should have the bee's head and one of its wings.
  19. Now twist another large bubble. This will be the bee's other wing. Twist this large bubble together with the small bubble that is the bee's head. Now your bee has two wings. The leftover balloon is the bee's body and its stinger.
  20. Using a marker, add eyes and stripes to your bumblebee.
