Life in Full Color

• Jan. 7, 2008 - Lessons from Laryngitis

If you whisper to your children~ they whisper back.

If you get their attention before talking~ they notice that you are talking to them and amazingly listen.

If you snap your fingers at them when they are doing something they know they aren't supposed to be doing they amazingly say~  "I know and stop."

If you leave them alone~ they eventually work things out.

And if you look pitiful enough~ they don't even tattle.

Gee, I have had laryngitis many times, and my kids used to do those things when they were little. Now, they would just continue to ignore me. I wish the snap would work, but it doesn't either. So, I just keep trying to be consistent with discipline. But I do see the wisdom in the post you made. Have a good day, and a blessed New Year!
