Hi Everyone.  This week is  devoted to a little project we are going to work on when school starts back up.  I have decided that we are going to ease back into things using a unit study approach.  The subject of this study was inspired by our lovely afternoon at the zoo yesterday.  Oh how we love the butterfly exhibit!  Being there with those beautiful creatures  gave me the idea of making this our unit study to begin the school year.  And of course, I found some gems at the gift shop to help us in our studies.

I sent off for the little larvae this morning.  (The dog is not part of my Show & Tell, Ryan is just trying to show off his Webkinz)

I also ordered Hand of a Child's project pack on Butterflies.  (Everything is on sale this week.)  And while I was at Walmart today, I picked up a pack of colorful file folders and the big zip bags that Jane said to get.  (Thanks, Jane!)  So I think we have everything we need to get started.  I also will get some books from the library to round things out.  Oh, and the fantastic nature book I already have, Handbook of Nature Study by Comstock .  It is turning out to be such a good reference to have on hand.
