~ BFS Assignment #12: Ready, Set... Goals! ~

The assignment this week is to write out some goals that I would like to accomplish. These goals should include my personal goals, but also goals as a family.

I know I am not alone when I confess that I am not the best at keeping up with my goals.  Last year, I had some great goals.  I even had a plan to revisit them once a week, here, on my blog.  And those goals are  ones that I would still love to be working towards.  Interestingly, 2007 took some unexpected twists and turns that interrupted my best laid plans.

Goals for 2008

Consider these a work in progress, not set in stone, nor the only ones I may dream up.

Family Goals

1.  Purpose to be home more in 2008.
2.  Love one another, prefer one another, be kind and tender-hearted to one another.
(
Family Verse for 2008, Ephesians 4:32 "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you."ESV)

Personal Goals

(Revised from last year)
1.  Read my Bible and pray every day possible.  (Growing in grace to do what I know I am called to do.)
2.  Seek out tangible ways to encourage my husband as often as possible.
3.  Purpose and pray to eat only when I am hungry, stopping when I am full, not stuffed!
4.  Purpose to exercise 3 times a week.  (This is something I could easily do with the kids. Just need to make it happen.)
(In addition to last years goals)
5.  Print off pictures on a monthly basis instead of waiting 6 or 7 months!
6.  Print off journal entries as I go.
7.  Continue to strive to live within my means.  (Something, by the Grace of God, that I am learning to enjoy.)

In addition to all of this and in light of my main goal for 2008, I would like to announce a name change for my blog.  I wish to name my blog....Busy At Home!  (Yes, this is the fourth time in a year that I have changed my blog's name.  But, as my dh said, it is cheaper to change my blog's name and design than to do many other things that I like to do!)

Don't be so hard on yourself. I think we all have goals we don't reach. I guess the biggest thing is lets try to make sure that when we make a list of our goals, they are goals given to us from the Lord and not just from ourselves. I have to remember that one so much too. :)

It is hard to reach goals even at the best of times - so many "extraordinary" events get in the way!
Praying that you will achieve all the goals you have set yourself for the coming year. Until next time, I wish you a Happy, Holy and Peaceful Christmas!

Those are some wonderful goals, and I hope that you achieve them all! (...and I need to get busy and make some of my own!) ;-)

Christmas Blessings,

Nice new blog title! That is what we are doing this year and it is so relaxing - much less stress!!!

I'm with you on the goal thing - I think I'll just copy the last year's goals for the this coming year (sigh). Blessings dear friend. I'm feeling better - now just to get caught up on EVERYTHING!

I'm thinking that I'll just print your goals and post them on my fridge since you wrote such a perfect list. It really would be a good fit! :) My spouse would only ask for one change and that would be to ride my horse everyday in big bold print as I'm having trouble getting in this habit.

Thanks for being a friend.
Merry Christmas!

Ok... I love the new blog name! Fun!!! Hope your having a great Christmas season - it sounds like you are. I'm finding it hard to get around and say hello to all my friends. Please forgive me if I don't say hello every day - I do stop and read though. Have a great weekend!

Hee he. I like your hubby's feelings about how changing your blog decor or blog name is cheaper than other things you like to do. I keep telling my hubby that at least blogging is pretty much FREE. [0; I think the Lord is for sure leading your heart to HOME. Good Job. ((hugs))

Blessings and ((hugs)) my SSiC

I have been trying to decide whether I feel worse never reaching my goals, or not having any... lol. Right now I am experimenting with not having any, and I am accomplishing nothing!
I love your geranium lady!

I wish you blessings in 2008! May all of your goals be fullfilled - with the help from our Lord, of course.

~ All About Me ~

Hello. My name is Jenn and I am striving to be a servant of Jesus Christ. I am a wife of 13 years to my best friend and a stay at home mom of 3 wonderful home educated children ages 10, 8, 6 here in beautiful Central Indiana. Titus 2:5 says to older women that we are to teach younger women "to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God." This blog is my way of encouraging others to be Busy At Home.
