"So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness." Colossians 2: 6-7
Good morning! There is so much to be thankful for today. I hope this inspires you to take a moment and give Him thanks today.
I am thankful that it looks as if I will be able to kick this bug without a trip to the doctor. This is a huge praise. Thank you, Lord, for Zicam, Airborne, and Muscinex!
I am thankful for last night's discussion of Psalm 23 and how the Lord is our Shepherd and all that means. Jerry did a fantastic job of fleshing that out using examples from the rest of Scripture.
I am thankful for the rain. The ground was starting to get cracks like last summer when it was so dry. I like wet Mays. Plus, this will help us get our lessons done, this last month of school.
I am thankful for another chance to go see my grandma in the nursing home this week. The kids and I are excited to bring her a little joy today.
I am thankful for my hard working husband who picked up the slack this week when I was dragging. Thanks to him, the laundry is caught up and in good shape.
I am thankful to have a little time with my husband tonight when the kids are at Karate. We are going to Starbucks with our Sonlight catalog! (Whohoo!)
I am thankful that others count me worthy to be their friend.
Now, get out there and make the most of your day for Him!
Jenn,
I'm so glad that you are feeling better. I hope the kiddos are too. It's just raining cats and dogs here. We've had a lot of tornado watches lately which I don't like, but I do like having the rain because I planted to some baby plum trees last week and it is nice when the Lord waters them for me. ;) Hope you all have a terrific day.
Love & Blessings,
(: Amanda :)
Have fun tonight with a coffee and dreaming of books. I am kinda doing the same. I have my home brewed coffee and HS catologs. Trying to some what finalize my book list so when I go to the BC HS confrence I will have a plan of books to look at. Are you going to buy a Sonlight curriculum ? Or just some books from them ? Oh, btw ....what did you think of the Cindy Rushton mp3's ?
This is a great thankful post. I am thankful for rain this week too, and looking forward to having some time with my own DH soon.
AND I am thankful to have you on my friends list :D
What a huge blessing you have in your DH working along side you in homeschooling! I'll try not to be envious lol.
I like your top Scripture :) "As you were taught" is how THEY (first disciples) were taught way back in the beginning. I know you know that, it's just a pet peeve of mine how modern churches use that out of context today. ok off my soapbox :-X
Denise
Awww Jenn,
I'm sorry to hear that you are sick, but I hope that you and your husband enjoy your 'date' tonight. (My DH and I go to Starbucks every Sunday morning before church - while the older kids are in Sunday school...it's our 'date time' even though we have Annabelle along.) Still...I'm looking forward to next year when Annie is old enough for Sunday School and DH and I get to go to adult Bible class again. (But I'll always look back fondly on our Sunday morning times together, too.)
I feel like you do about rainy days. I have no problem with them as long as I don't have to get out in them, in fact, once in a while they can be quite nice. I am thankful to have you as a friend!!! :)
It was so fun to see you last night. You are both such an encouragement to both of us. We are so thankful for you and your family. We really want to continue to see you and get together with you even after the study is over. Thanks again for your list of thanks! So fun to read. You are a sweet one dear friend!
Terrific List. I too am thankful for the rain this week, especially yesterday -- you are right, we have a thoughtful Creator!
Glad you are feeling better. I love your background here....so warm and homey!
What a wonderful list! I'm thankful to have you as a blogging friend and I'm thankful that you are getting better. It's no fun being sick * especially when your a Mom! {{hugs}}
Hello. My name is Jenn and I am striving to be a servant of Jesus Christ. I am a wife of 13 years to my best friend and a stay at home mom of 3 wonderful home educated children ages 10, 8, 6 here in beautiful Central Indiana. Titus 2:5 says to older women that we are to teach younger women "to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God." This blog is my way of encouraging others to be Busy At Home.
