Raise your hand if you bought one of these. Yep, me too.
I got mine, oh, 6 or more years ago now and it is still going strong. Just one change. It's been years since I bought those wet wipes for quick mopping in between deeper cleanings. For one, they were expensive and wasteful. And I don't think they really did a great job. What I did was to buy a few dark colored wash cloths and use those. They are easily washed and ready. Because they are dark in color, I know they are for the floor and they don't look dingy. I hate dingy, don't you? And they are thicker with a better texture for getting at those sticky spots. This time of year, I have to mop my entryway every day. Having this little tool really cuts down on that chore. I will say that I still think the dry cloths are best for wood floors and would buy them if I had any. But for now, my little Swiffer is working hard for me in a tightwad fashion.
If you'd like to see more Tightwad entries go see my sweet Mary.
What a great idea! I, too, have one of these, but stopped using it because I couldn't afford those cloths anymore. Plus, you're right, they didn't do a very good job. I'm going to try it your way! Thanks for sharing such a great tip!
No. I don't have one. But it sounds great, especially the idea of using it with a washcloth. My sponge mop rips up and the handles break. I like knowing that you have gotten 6 years of use out of yours.

Okay, I am losing my memory ...again. /0= Here I thought I left a comment and didn't ! Okay, lets try this again. [0=
I love this tip. I am going to get one and some clothes. I am NOT happy with the ring out mops. the heads don't last long. /0=
I have never bought a Swifter, but have considered it - as much as we all spill around here. Thanks for the tip - if I ever do buy one, I'll do what you are doing.
Yes, I do have all my herbs & plants, but much of it is still in my dinette yet waiting to be planted. Yesterday was too windy and right now it's still windy with a line of showers is headed our way, but I may plant anyways after an errand or two this morning. Have a great day!!!
Yeah! I have one too, but am not as creative as you are. Using a dark colored wash cloth instead of the overly expensive Swifter wet cloths is a great idea.
Love, Mom
My Mop cover is white, and it always looks horrible, even right out of the wash. I think I will be looking at some cheap dish towels next time I am at Wal-mart...
What a great idea!!! I never thought of that. I have two swiffers, and need to get one more for our little guy. I give one to each child and let them have at the floor. My silly boys think its fun!! ;) I need some dark dishtowels now, thanks for the idea!
