~ Making Christmas Cookies ~

Yesterday was the big cookie making day.  We went to Nana's house and pretty  much made a huge mess!  But what a yummy mess it was!  We baked the whole day.  It is a joy to have my mom so close by and able to spend a day making memories.  Grace was the only child to hang on until the end.  You can see the boys gave up to watch a movie or play on the computer.  The cookies are safe at Nana's house.  Tomorrow evening we will pig out!  Thank you, Mom for the pizza, as well.  Yummy!  I didn't want dinner last night.

Today and tomorrow we are expecting some winter weather, so I had to change my plans to go see my grandparents who live an hour away.  I am very sad about this, but realize that is the way things go sometimes.  My mom will bring them some of the cookies on Christmas day.  And I will go see them next week when the weather cooperates.

Merry Christmas!

Jenn

How special and wonderful for your children to have their grandmother to make such wonderful memories with this time of year! I always feel sad for my boys that my mom died before they were born and dh's parents never took an interest in them as you would think grandparents would - but enough of that rant.

I've made gobs and gobs of cookies this month and my waistline is letting me know I've eaten far too many. LOL My boys have enjoyed it though.

A very Merry Christmas to you and your family!!!

Moving nic nacs and organizing school stuff. I need to move it out of my main space so we can have 19 people over for dinner.

Was that a girls versus boys kind of thing? Boys are interested, but only to a point?! That's such a neat tradition you have going on with your mom.

I'd be the same way with Christmas cookies. My DH is always begging me to make them, but seriously between him and I they are gone before we can blink and we both feel sick. It's terrible how little self control we have with sweets around. I also love baking, so that would be good sometime if I were able to do it with someone who would keep the goods!

You all have a Very Merry Christmas. Snow is a good reason for plans to change. You can always visit later.

mmmm! We love our tradition of makign Christmas cookies -- we did 60 of them this year -- with a twist! I did cookie bouquets for 6 people with them. They came out so nice! It was nice to make them and give them away instead of keeping them and eating them all week!!

Hope your Christmas was blessed and that your toes are staying warm!!!

We've been on our wonderful Dec break for the last few weeks, back at it tomorrow!
