~ Not So Wordless Wednesday ~

This old geranium belonged to my grandpa who is now in a nursing home. I could not bare to toss it out when we cleared out their place. I remember him being so proud of this spindly thing. He'd take me aside and show it to me when we'd visit. He'd remark how he only gave it rain water he collected. Somehow, I just need to keep this little plant going. It spent the summer outside. Now it is getting some sunshine from the inside.

** Update, my mom told me last night that Grandpa has to see an oncologist today. He's had a fever and his blood work came back suggesting something is up. I am asking for prayers. Thank you.

That's sweet Jenn. So do you give it only rain water too?

I have a Christmas cactus that was given to my mom when my dad died 9 yrs. ago. It isn't much bigger then when it was then, but keeps hanging in there & is about to bloom again.

So far, Jane, it has only had rain water. It was outside until recently. The way he made the inner and outer parts, there is enough water still in it so that I won't need to water it for awhile. He's a smart one!

That is so sweet. I was thinking of your cat laying in the sun. I do that myself sometimes, lay in the sun on the couch. :)

Soon, I'll post an entry that has my father's "special" bowl that he used when he came to visit us. A sucker for a routine (which is where I must get it from), he would have the same breakfast each morning in it. He went home to be with the Lord in 1997, and I have such special memories of the bowl until I only eat the same morning treat that he ate from it. Isn't it amazing how the littlest things can be so meaningful and hold such emotion for us?

I thought of you yesterday. I ordered some things from LTD. They came yesterday. One is a Colts tote bag. I just *had* to bring it to work today to carry my extras!
