~ Thanksgiving Week, Here We Come! ~

Hello Friends,

As many of you, too,  are scurrying around to prepare a lovely holiday of thanks on Thursday, I thought I'd take a moment to post some pictures from our weekend and wish you a lovely Thanksgiving.  As  I do not plan to post again until next week, I'll try to make this one count.  *wink*

First up, some pictures, especially for those precious family members who read my blog.  (  you)

Here we are, all five of us, in front of a giant fireplace at Bass Pro on Saturday up at Lake Michigan.

Although the kids "know", they did not want to pass up a chance to talk to the big guy.

We had a truly delicious lunch at the restaurant located inside Bass Pro, a big treat.

Next, we attended a lecture on Indiana ship wrecks at Indiana Dunes State Park.  You may be surprised to know we even have a ship wreck in our history.  I know I was!  They pulled this 2 ton propeller up from the wreck.

The weather was unusually perfect for beach combing.  We gathered from the many smooth, flat rocks and attempted to skip them, some more successful than others.  We wrote messages in the sand with sticks and marveled how a month of non-stop rain changed the beach in the last month since we last visited.  Jeff and Grace climbed a huge sand dune.  We finished our day with some steamy, dreamy, creamy hot chocolate.

Yesterday after church, we put up the tree as promised.

Grace is sporting her new, ladies size 8 shoes!  (She is only 10!  )

I am looking forward to the week ahead.  We plan to take Wednesday off to prepare.  My goal is to have 2 really packed school days before then.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Jenn

Those pictures are great. Looks and sounds like you had a great time. I have heard a lot about the different ship wreaks in the 'lakes'. It is very interesting. Your tree is very pretty. We'll miss you blogging this week, hope you get all the things done you want. :)
Happy Thanksgiving.

Is it just me, or are your children as tall as the Christmas tree?!

Love Bass Pro shop! Never tried the restaurant though...

I can't believe it. I thought my 12 year old had big feet. She's complaining that her size 7's are too small... I guess that means she's in an 8 too. My 10 year old is still in size 2's! She grows so slowly!

It's so cold here. Snow everywhere. I'm loving the sunny days, even if it is frigid.

Hope you have a great week.

Love the family photo Jenn! It looks like you all are getting into the holiday spirit just dandy. Wow, I didn't know Bass Pro had a restaurant in it. The restaurant sign brought back memories for me as we spent half of our honeymoon on Islamorada (FL Keys) and the other half on Key West. Did you all eat fish? Pretty tree - but now the kids are getting too big - they block the tree. lol I remember when I was young and thought it was pretty cool when I was wearing a size nine ladies shoes - it's not so cool anymore with a a size 11 - I can't find anything! Have a WONDERFUL THANKSGIVING my friend! I am thankful that you are my friend too!!!

We are expecting rain/snow mix today, but just making an early run to get a library book and then staying home to clean & bake too. My mom "may" come tomorrow & then we all head to the inlaws for Thanksgiving, but she said she wouldn't come if there is snow - she is trying to back out of it.

I had a rather emotional evening last night - our neighbor had to put her 35 yr. old horse down Monday so I brought over some flowers & card & shared a hug & tears. It's a horse we have horsey-sat when they have been out of town & the girls have ridden in the past; but the lady is a new ager, so I'm hoping this will help open doors to Christ.

Hi there ! I am sooooooo glad to hear you are done with your 2 days of jam packed days and now onto the festivites ! We were going to celebrate the American Thanksgiving but Thursday is a jam packed town day. I think we will have to celebrate it on Black Friday (gasp !!). Otherwise I won't get to celebrate at all. On the A. Thanksgiving get to have a Thanksgiving that is only my little family and I get to make the things I grew up with. ((happy dance)) It may seem small but it isn't ...I love my childhood memeories. [0=

I pray blessings on your 4 day week end and may it be filled with the BEST family memories ever !!

Blessings and ((HUGS)) my SSiC
