Section of a parking lot washed away in September after 9 inches of rain fell at the Indiana Dunes State Park courtesy of Hurricane Ike. We thought the sign was ironic.
**Thanks to all who offered help with the sewing machine. The bobbin winding mechanism is not working. This machine belonged to Jeff's grandmother and is a '79 Montgomery Wards model. I am not sure if it is going to work. I'll be really sad if it doesn't. I may need to start a sewing machine fund. Can you hand wind a bobbin? It looks like a lot of work and the manual said if it isn't done right the machine won't work. My MIL comes tomorrow. She gave me the machine. I am hoping she can get the bobbin to wind.
Jun. 24, 2008~ Early edition: Worldless Wednesday ~
I hope you'll forgive me, but this is just a crazy week and I am going to have to post my WW today, on Tuesday! Plus, it is just such a fun picture that I was having a hard time waiting to see what you'd say about this...
"My Naughty Cat"
We have lots to do the rest of the week with soccer, swimming, family coming from out-of-town. I will be a little scarce the rest of the week, I am afraid. Take care!
Good morning. I think I turned a corner last night and am feeling more like a human. The pollen count is out of sight, so that could be another reason for my ailment. I am still taking my immune support vitamins until this goes away. Anyway, here are a couple pictures I took this morning.
This is my spring look for my kitchen window. It sure beats the winter look of plastic wrap!
And here is what showed up at my back door this morning for babysitting... Argh! Ahoy, mates!
Apr. 30, 2008~ Wordless Wednesday: Caught in Action ~
Note: This is not my photo. I found it on Photobucket, so I assume it is free to use, because it is a photo sharing website, right?
Last night, when it was dark, we finally caught our own little bandit red-handed eating the suet cake I had just put out that day for the birds. We knew someone other than the birds had been eating it. I thought it was the squirrels. We've had one entire suet cage disappear. So now we have to figure out another plan to feed the Woodpeckers. It was too dark to get a photo last night, so I resorted to Photobucket.
Have a great day!
Our keyboard got a drink of water tonight. Children remorseful. I will be back when dh brings home a replacement. On-screen keyboard is a drag. Children for hire to buy new one. Any takers?
