So since I haven’t blogged in a while I will give you all the news.
Funny News
June calls “Waltzing Matilda” “Help Sing Matila”.
June sings Edelweiss like this:
“Edelweiss, Edelweiss, every morning you greet me.
Small and wide, clean and bright, you look happy to meet me.
Blossom of snow may you groom and grow, groom and grow forever.
Edelweiss, Edelweiss, bless my home and land forever.”
The song really goes like this:
“Edelweiss, Edelweiss, every morning you greet me.
Small and white, clean and bright, you look happy to meet me.
Blossom of snow may you bloom and grow, bloom and grow forever.
Edelweiss, Edelweiss, bless my homeland forever.”
That is not the real Austrian folk song but many people get confused. Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein wrote it especially for The Sound of Music.
The thing that happened the other night was funny. Dad was looking at podcasts on iTunes and I asked him to look for the Anne of Green Gables audio books. He found the whole first book for FREE! I have read all of the Anne books but I think it would be nice to have them on the iPod. Anyway… dad got the Anne book and we continued looking for more books. And while we were looking for books Dad saw a song called “Gilbert loves Anne of Green Gables”. So Dad clicked on the song and it went sort of like this: “Gilbert loves Anne of Green Gables” and something about Anne fooling herself that she didn’t love Gilbert and then “Anne of Green Gables loves Gilbert too.” When the song started playing I laughed and said, “This is goofy!” Then Dad asked me if they played it in the movie. I assured him that they didn’t and we went on looking for audio books. The books are way better than the movie. That’s how it always is.
Good News
Dad made ID tags for Jill and me.
They are the kind that nurses in the hospital wear.
You can check out my dads blog for pics because I don’t have any.
Mom made scrubs for Jill to wear to clinic. She was going to make some for me too but she did not have time. My mom has pics of Jill in her scrubs with the nurses from the hospital.
Check that out.
We went swimming the other day! We sold our pool MONTHS ago and our neighbor lets us use his pool. This is our first time swimming this year except the time in… January I think it was… Jacob and Jason had a two second dip. They were freezing afterwards.
Great News
Dad tried to tell me that I was wrong. But was I wrong? No.
Okay let me skip the whole how I figured it out and let me just tell you what it is.
If you read my moms blog then you probably know this already.
My mom’s going to have another baby!
She says that if it is a girl then her name is Jodie and if it’s a boy then the same thing.
I like it spelled Jodi for a girl and Jody for a boy but mom says Jodie for both.
Hmmmmm……… I need to change the name of my blog.
I think maybe “The Oldest of Eleven (plus one coming soon!)” or something like that.
We went to *drum roll* THE CIRCUS!
Someone from the hospital gave us FREE TICKETS!!!
So we all went to the circus and it was sooooooo much fun! We have never been to a circus before so this was a big treat for us. We all got big red clown noses!
Mom has pics of the circus on her blog so check that out too.
I think that is all the great news so I will move on to
Normal News
My brother Jacob wants a blog too. He wanted one when I got one but I think he wants one more now that he saw my distant 11 year old cousin Jacob’s blog. He saw it and said to me, “Whoa! That’s cool! He has Yankee Doodle playing! Did you know that the Redcoats played Yankee Doodle to make fun of the Yankees? I want a blog like his!” Jacob asked Dad
for a blog just the other night. Dad said yes! Jacob is so excited!
I made dog treats the other day. I used my Grandma Heidi’s recipe except I changed one little thing…… I put them in the food dehydrator instead of the oven. They turned out very well. Our dog Sara loves them. I taught her how to shake on command using the treats that I made. She needs a little more practice before I teach her to spin around in a circle.
Sad News
Our cat, Topsy, is being bottle fed two ounces twice a day because we think she was separated from her mom too early.
Even though she is the oldest of our four cats she is being bottle fed.
I think that is all that has been going on since the last time I blogged.
It’s been so long that I don’t even remember when it was.
I’m sure I could look if I wanted to. Okay, I don’t really want to but I will. Just wait a second……………………… it was June 23rd 2007. Well it wasn’t too long ago.
But still I think this should make up for it.
Did I finally finish it!?
I did!
Woo-hoo!
It took me days to write all this!
Now I can go help Jacob look for a template for his blog! |
