Is there no remedy?
|
My generation is crying out for love. Why do we mask oursleves and our true feelings when all we want is to be accepted for us? Because we have been told over and over until it's embedded in our brains that "Unless you're like me, you're nothing." So what do we do? We dress up our feelings of sadness with makeup, shiny hair, the "right" shoes, the "right" everything according to society. But if we would look closer, we would see that behind these smiles, behind this makeup and shiny hair, you will see a broken heart; one that seems it can never be unbroken. You will see a dead soul, slain by the words of our peers. You will see a cloud that lurks over our minds that never goes away. You will see hands that long to be held, bodies that are bruised from "love". What kind of love do we want? One that is not attainable through humans. I search for a love that's real. And I know where to find it. Jesus. He said he died two thousand years ago in a foreign land and before the world ever knew who we were to save us. He didn't say, "Oh my god, I am dying. I need to save myself. Why would anyone die for these "strangers"?" No... the whole time he was dying, he was thinking about YOU. Can you believe that? You! You! And he says to us now, "If I had to do it all over again, I would." I cannot comprehend that! Why would he do it again? Why? Because he knws the Father and the Father knows him. How incredible. He knows what's on the Father's heart. And he would do anything for the Father. he would die all over again. Incredible love. There it is. There's the love we crave. |
