The innocence of children

Yesterday the sweetest thing happened, I was in the kitchen making lunch for the kids and my son and Lexi (the girl I babysit who has a bad heart) were in the toy room playing. I heard my son talking in a very serious low voice so I peeked out there to see what they were doing. Kylan (my son) and Lexi were on their knees with their hands folded and heads bowed and Kylan was praying that Lexi will be okay when she has open heart surgery next week! I almost cried- it was just so sweet that little 4 year olds thought of praying about it when no one told them to. That has got to be the sweetest thing I have ever witnessed-the innocence of children!

That brought a tear to my eye. Thanks for sharing. Whenever I see something like that in one of my children I think of that verse where Jesus talks about having faith like a child!

Thanks for visiting my blogsite, Jess. That is so precious that your son prayed for his friend. My4 year old son saw our new 4 yr. old neighbor crying today. They just met a couple of days ago, but my son wanted to make sure that Bryan was okay. I gave him permission to go up to the house and see if he was okay. It's so ironic that one moment boys can be so tender and the next they are stomping on something that belongs to his sisters. Gotta love 'em.
