Dec. 1, 2009 - My favorite little Christmas book!
I love thrift shoppes!
Seriously, I haunt them!
And a thrift shoppe is where I found this darling little specimen!
I thought it looked just cute at first, but then...
See? How cute is that?
...and that!
Isn't he cute? Look, joyfully bringing gifts to his true love, with his little page offering a towel too! ah!
The Lords A-Leaping are a hoot.
"Go home, go home, go home with Bonny Jean..." (Brigadoon)
Aw,I love the illustrations! So vintag-y and ever so festive, even if the guy looks like a girl at times...but hey, its Disney...
Hope you all have a good week! I will try to post more later, but I have been so busy lately:0

A picture thought I'd like to share...
As some of you may know or have hinted from my mentions of it - our church has started a Bible Quizzing team! We memorize chapters (this year from 1 & 2 Cor. and Titus) and then every first Saturday of the month we compete against other teams. Well, last time we didn't do so well - let's just our team got 3rd place (last place) every time and I only answered two questions correctly. This time we got four 3rd places, one 2nd places, and two 1st places!! And this time I got fourteen questions answered correctly!!! Anna got five! So just to say, we are having allot more fun now!! Below is a picture of us quizzing last month, sorry, no pictures of this time.

Thank you for reading! ~Amber
Oct. 30, 2009 - Our Own Leonberger Puppy!
We are getting a puppy in two weeks!!! After our beloved Boston Terrier died two month ago (read post), mom's been searching all over for a dog - preferably a large dog to gaurd. Our top two were the Leonbergers and the Bernese Mountian Dogs. Well, we finally found a little Leonberger in our price range yesterday!!! She's still only 5 weeks old so we can make the 3 hour drive to get her in a couple weeks. This is our puppy's papa, Braveheart, or Braver. Don't you just love the name. This is our puppy's mama, Sweetie Pie. She is from Canada. The Leonberger is a giant breed dog with it's foundation in the Newfoundland, Great Pyrenees and Saint Bernard breeds. The breed's name comes from the city of Leonberg, Germany. According to legend, the Leonberger was bred to look like the lion in the town's crest. It is a LGD (Livestock Guardian Dog) good at pulling carts & sleds, search & rescue, enjoys water play & hikes, and surprisingly, agility. It guards with it's size, not with it's teeth and is very loyal to it's flock and family. The average female (much smaller than the male) is about 27" - 29" to the shoulder and about 130 lbs.

Here she is, currently she is called "Dark Green & Orange" since that is the color of nail polish they put on her nails to tell her apart from the rest. Obviously we will be finding her a better name.

Excitement abounds at our house!!! We will now be busy getting ready for a big dog - a big change from our little dog!
Thank you for reading! And thanks to mom for letting me copy most of her dog post to make it easier for me!!
God Bless, Amber

Oct. 25, 2009 - Sharpie Vs. Germex
Okay everybody, as you know, I do a lot of weird things, and a lot of weird thing happen to me. Well, this time it was a weird, unfortunate thing that happened to me. Maybe it was one of those serendipitous kinds of things
My friend
Then Matt, a kid that sits near me, raises his hand for the teacher, because he needed help with his paper. I hurriedly stacked my books on top of the huge red stain on my desk as the teacher came over to help Matt. As this was happening, two precious minutes were wasted that I could have been trying new ways to clean up my desk.
The teacher went back to her desk and I immediately took my books off the stain and started scrubbing away.
With only two minutes to go Emily suggests to me, “Try some Germex, it’ll take off anything.”
“Are you sure?” I asked.
“Just try it, what do you have to lose?” She asked.
I was thinking, “My life, that's what I’ve got to lose, my life.”
Well I tried it, and it worked! The Germex took it right off. I cannot even begin to describe the relief I felt when I saw that it came off.
But there was still a problem. I had this huge puddle of red Germex on my desk. Just then Matt raised his hand again. I quickly set my books on my desk, thinking to myself, “Great, now my books are going to have red stains on them, now I’m really in trouble.”
The teacher came over to help Matt then went back to her desk. I picked up my books and to my surprise my book covers kind of shed the liquid so nothing got on my books.
Then about one minute before the bell
If I had not gotten it cleaned up I would have confessed to the teacher, but since I got it taken care of, I didn’t see the point.
Oct. 18, 2009 - Off the Floor
Yeah, so I guess the very pathetic number of people (the numbers are pathetic, not the people...I assure you) who read this poorly tended blog must have something against chickens. I got all of one comment! And from a very unlikely source. I shall say no more.
Since my last post, I have graduated from sleeping 6 inches of the floor to a full sized bed! Woot! It is so wonderful! But the real thing that makes me happy about this bed is that my own Papa made it for me.
Here he is putting it together. (I did help, I promise!)
Beautiful, is it not?
My bed is looking so much more decent without gobs of junk all over the place...I have Mom to thank for that.
In celebration of getting the bed set up, I got a bad cold and my flu vaccine. Yay...
Happy Halloween! (All Saints Day or All Hallows Eve the celebration of the communion of the saints and God. Just have to articulate:)

Oct. 18, 2009 - Knitting Project Complete!
I had been working long and hard on a my knitted shawl and finally finished it a few days ago!! You can find the free pattern here. It is pretty easy - all you need to know is the garter stitch and how to increase one stitch at the beginning and end. It just takes some patience to get it done!!!

Sorry, I guess that's about it! God Bless,Amber
