I'm not really sure where to start ..... I have been "lurking" around and read SO many inspiring blogs here. Many have touched me and caused me to search my own heart. I know that He has led me to some of the things I have read, and I must admit that I've "borrowed" a few ideas here and there. I can only hope to touch atleast one person for my Lord in the same way :)
I guess I should start with my family. I am a SAHM of 4, with #5 on the way, and a dh who is a wonderful provider and truly a Godsend. We have 2 boys (7 and 18 mos) and 2 girls (4 and 3) and I am about 21 weeks along with ANOTHER girl. For some reason our boys are SO much easier than the girls!!!! I find myself asking God (very often) WHY he gives toddlers and pre ker's more energy than He gives thier moms! So far....no answer lol.
I was born and raised in Florida, but we moved to Alabama for a year. It just so happened to be the year that my oldest ds would start K and we decided to homeschool because the school in our neighborhood was not so great. I loved it! When we came back to Florida I found myself pressured into sending him to the school that all of my neices went to. That lasted for a year and then i KNEW God was convicting me to BRING HIM HOME! So far it is going good....I think. That decision is constantly confirmed everytime I hear my mother talking about the girls and school, but most especially when our local schoolboard voted on and announced that as of next year there will be NO Christian holidays observed on the school calender.
Right now we are just kind of muddling through, trying to find our place. I don't think we have any particular style or a certain curriculum. Just constant prayer and trying to listen for the answers. We picked right up on the notebooking as this is something I have been doing with my own stuff for years and ds LOVES having notebooks like mom. At this point all of our learning is bible centered except for math which I am at a total loss about. We are using the florida fcat workbook for lack of anything better. But ds is especially gifted in math (whereas I AM NOT) so he breezes right through it.
If anyone actually reads this and has ideas for doing prek for the girls along with ds's studies I would be EXTREMELY grateful.
