The Dash of Life

May. 7, 2008 - Don't Be That Person

Wow!  I just found a verse (Heb 6:4-6) that speaks of the Christian that was once experiencing the goodness of the word of God and His power, shared in the Holy Spirit, and had at one time been enlightened.  This person once loved and obeyed God, was not a babe in Christ (prior verses).  If this type of person falls or drifts away from God, he is said to be "crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace".

Crucifying the Son of God all over again!!  Can't possibly get any stronger than that!  I don't recall ever hearing, reading, or paying any attention to that verse before.  I will never forget that verse now!

Leave a Note!

No, I am not quite "that person", and I am not really quite as crabby as my post let on to. I don't think I made my thoughts on David as well as I could have.

Oh, and we are neighbors. We have been to Yates Cider Mill, and will probably go some time this year.

to Kristie on her blog about to whom we advertise the Day of Hope (Hope for Warren/Detroit). Well, the church is based near the border of Warren and Detroit so we advertise all around our local area. We see many people from Detroit at this outreach annually. We typically average over 800 people, with last year reaching near 1,000.

We also minister to as many as 600 individuals/families a month with a food ministry, but the economy has hit us as hard as it has hit many others in MI, so please pray for us to be able to continue to reach this many people.

Also, I wasn't sure if you misunderstood the Post Office food drive and our HFW/D outreach. If you want to get involved with the Post Office annual food drive you would have to get in touch with them. We have a contact in our church who can probably help.

If you want to get in touch with the HFW/D outreach, then you would either contact me or my wife, andijeane.

The two projects, though they are related in how we use the food to reach needy people, are two separate projects. The food we get from the Post Office food drive is a large portion of the food we hand out at our outreach.
